Thelma Fields
1925-2012
Thelma Fields, age 86, of Murray Corner, passed away peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home on Friday, January 13, 2012, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Rosburn, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Nellie (Chgus) Zenchyshyn.
Thelma lived in Montreal during World War II and worked in an aircraft factory. In 1941 she met her late husband Harry Fields whom she went on to marry in 1942. Shortly thereafter they moved home to Murray Corner where she raised her family of 4 children and worked at the Lobster Factory in Cap Pele and at the Terminal Restaurant in Cape Tormentine. She was a member of the First United Church, Murray Corner, The Silver Pioneers Senior Citizens Club and the Ukrainian Club of Moncton.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Stewart (Betty) Murray Corner, George (Joy), Bayfield, Gregory (Brenda), Murray Corner, Lorraine (Merton) Simpson, Moncton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters Alice (Curtis) Clark, British Columbia, Rosie (Ed) Leguck, Manitoba, Annie Druel, Manitoba.
She was predeceased by her husband Harry; brothers Mike, Stanley, and Peter; sisters, Stella, Martha, Mary Ann, Margaret and Tilley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin (538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11 am at the funeral home, William Drysdale DLM officiating. Burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring. Â
