Obituary
Viola Jean Boyce Viola Jean Boyce, age 81, of Cape Spear, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day at the Sackville Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born in Chipman Brook, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Bertie (Gould) Misner. Viola was well known for her home cooking and her awesome appearance. She cooked for CN Marine for 18 and a half years, retiring as chief Cook on the Abegweit. She was a member of the United Church and the Westmorland Senior Citizens Club. She loved playing cards, and going to card parties with friends. She was a very loving and devoted mother, always putting her children first. She will be dearly missed by her special friend Donald "Duddy" Trenholm, Cape Spear, children Mervil (Janet), Oromocto, Irving (Mona), Airdrie, AB, Kevin (Sue), Calgary, Wayne (Coral), Welland, ON, David (Hazerett), Calgary, Brian, Gaetz Brook, NS, Myron (Jeannie), Airdrie, AB, Marlene (Jimi) Trenholm, Sackville, Dale (Patti), Lake Charlotte, NS, Jack (Amanda), Sackville; 31 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; brothers, Fred, Percy, Garnet (Vicki), Blair, all in the Kentville area, Lawrence (Janellda), Owen Sound, ON, Ronald (Carol), Steam Mill, NS; sisters, Grace Corkum, Kay Misner, Burleen Brown, Evelyn Misner, Carolyn (Percy) Henshaw, all of Annapolis Valley, NS, Vivian (Ken) Patton, New Glasgow, Margaret (Wayne) Hudson, Calgary; sister-in-law Bessie Misner, Annapolis Valley, NS. She was predeceased by her former husband Kermath and sons Tom and William, grandson, Bruce and brothers, Charlie and Frank. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and the funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 3 pm, William Drysdale DLM officiating. Burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery in the spring. Those wishing to make a donation in Viola's memory may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Bayfield United Church or the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin.
