Obituary
PARTRIDGE, Bryan Andrew - 55. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bryan Partridge, after a brief illness, on Saturday, August 30, 2003, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Befitting his life, he was surrounded by family and friends as he passed from this world into God's hands. Bryan was born in Amherst on October 17, 1947 and was a son of the late George and Audrey (Chapman) Partridge. He leaves to mourn his wife and best friend of 32 years, Lillie (Smith) Partridge; his loving children, daughter, Lisa (David Cullen), Mississauga, Ont.; son, Leigh (Sarah McIsaac), Amherst; a new joy, granddaughter, Evelyn. He will be dearly missed by brother, Richey, Leicester; sisters, Wendy Angevine and Holly Smith, Gables Lodge; close uncle, Tom Partridge (wife Cathy), Saint John. He is also survived by stepbrothers, Roger Megeney, Dartmouth; Richard Megeney, Toronto; Brian and Vern Megeney, both of Amherst; stepsisters, Linda Bales, Tidnish; Sharon Green and Donna Megeney, both of Dartmouth. Bryan started his career with Robb Engineering, then worked for Public Works and Government Services Canada for 29 years, retiring five years ago. After retirement, he realized his lifelong dream of owning his own business, Partridge Home Designs, and put his heart and soul into it. He was a volunteer fireman with the Truemanville Fire Department serving on various committees as well as Deputy Chief. While his life was not nearly long enough, it was a fulfilling one. Bryan was not one to sit idle and with his endless talent and ambitions pursued various hobbies. He enjoyed woodworking, and often had a couple of projects on the go, whether it be furniture or boats. He loved bird hunting, and being near the water, either boating, fishing, or water skiing. He was an avid gardener, earnestly searching for different types of hostas. He had a passion for classic cars and took pride in restoring his 1955 Ford truck. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor as well as his devotion to his family and friends. His remains will rest in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, with visiting from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment will take place in Warren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Huntington Society, Warren Church or Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. www.campbellsfh.com
