Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Leon and Louisa Haberski. Walter was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as an Engineer. He is survived by his five children, Stephen Haberski of ME, Linda Franklin of TX, Lisa Chasse of NC, Leon Haberski of Middletown and James Haberski of OR; a sister, Adele French of Durham; sister-in-law, Evelyn Haberski of FL; thirteen grandchildren(including two they raised as their own, Jason and Cheryl) and several great grandchildren.
