Rene Phillippe LeBlanc 1927-2002 Rene Phillippe LeBlanc, of Moncton, passed away at The Dr. Georges L- Dumont Hospital on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at the age of 75 years. Born in Moncton, NB on August 23, 1927 he was the son of the late Edward and Jean (Gallant) LeBlanc. He retired in 1982 from The Canadian National Railway with 37 years service as an auditor. He was inducted in Baseball's Hall of Fame in Fredericton, and also The Moncton Sports Wall of Fame. He was the president of Moncton Minor Baseball for 28 years, operated the Dud James Arena canteen raising funds to keep the baseball program, as well as provided uniforms and equipment for baseball teams. Major builder for Kiwanis Park, providing pitching machine, radar gun for pitchers, batting cage, field cover and large storage barn. He was a member of St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris Lee (Ogden); children, Brenda (Michael) McDonald, Debbie (Dale) Wallace, Linda (Carl) Wallace, Sharon (Gerard) Hebert and Terry (GaleBarton) all of Moncton; grandchildren, Dr. Tim Wallace of London,Ont, Scott Wallace, Pamela LeBlanc, Gerry Hebert, Shonda McDonald, Jamie & Matthew Wallace, Crystal & Kaitlin LeBlanc all of Moncton; great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Kaleigh, Mya, and Stevie; sister, Lorraine (Tom) Surette of Dieppe; brothers, Oswald (Judy) LeBlanc of Sackville, and Fernando (Theresa) LeBlanc of Dieppe; also by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Bertha Pelletier, Rita & Helena LeBlanc, and Doris Hamm; also by brothers, Arthur and Claude LeBlanc. Resting at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home 171 Lutz Street on Monday, September 2, 2002 from 2-4 & 7-9pm, and on Tuesday, September 3, 2002 from 12:00 noon until time of departure for Mass at 1:45pm, at St Augustines Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Roman Catholic Cemetery. In Rene's memory, donations made to The Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital Dialysis Unit, The Kidney Foundation, or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
