    • Funeral

Lorneville, June 10 - The death occurred at Lorneville on Friday morning, June 6th., of Winsby GOODWIN, after an illness of several weeks, during which time he was tenderly cared for and although all was done that medical aid and loving hands could do, he passed peacefully away. As the end drew near strong in the faith of his Saviour he awaited the Master's call, "Come Home". Deceased who was fifty-eight years of age was born at Lorneville, a son of the late Joseph Goodwin and his wife Susan Ward Goodwin. He was a man of retiring disposition and kindly, a man who made friends and kept them. His real worth was best known in the family circle where he was tenderly loved and will be sorely missed. The late Mr. Goodwin was twice married. His first wife was Miss Lila Oulton. By this union there were four children, three of whom are now living. Joseph Goodwin of Arlington, Mass. and Harris and Lila at home. One son Gordon predeceased him a number of years ago. His second wife who survives him was Mrs. Carrie Tingley of Tidnish. He is also survived by four brothers, Burton of Digby; Edgar of Calgary, Oscar of California and Marcus of Amherst, and one sister, Mrs. Allison Baxter of Lorneville. Another sister predeceased him eighteen years ago. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon and was very largely attended. The service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. L. W. Parker, assisted by Rev. A.E. Chapman, Rev. Hugh Millar and Rev. Mr. Bothrovl??. The hymns sung by the choir were "Rock of Ages," "Nearer My God to Thee" and "In the Sweet By and By", favorites of the deceased. The pall bearers were Messrs George Chappell; Harry Davison, Avery Oulton and W.R. Smith, brothers-in-law of the deceased. A long cortege followed the remains to the cemetery at Lorneville for interment in the family lot. The sympathy of the whole community goes out to those who mourn in this their hour of trouble. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and included: Broken Circle - Family: Wreath, Carrie and Allison; Wreath, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Goodwin; Pillow, Mr. and Mrs. Dana F. Ward; Sprays, Harry and Pear; Bertie, Greta, Amy and Eileen; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Smith and family; Mr. and Mrs. G.M.
