Obituary
It is with deep regret we learned of the passing of Mrs. Maude Julia Miller at the Outpost Hospital, Pugwash, on Oct. 26th. Â She was the widow of the late John M. Miller, who predeceased her 11 years ago. Â She was born at Oxford, the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Brownell. Â She resided in Oxford most of her life, moving to Little River 8 years ago, where she resided until her death.
Although in failing health for a number of years, her death came as a shock to her wide circle of friends and family. She was confined to her bed for 5 weeks previous to her passing. Â She is survived by her sorrowing family, two daughters (Lyttle) Mrs. Peter Petrus, Mansfield; (Inez) Mrs. Charles Hunter, Little River, three sons, Herman of Oxford; Vaughn of Brantford, Ontario; Aubrey of Edmonton, Alberta, also three sisters, (Lydia) Mrs. John McDonald, Oxford; Miss Pearl Brownell, Kolbec; (Nellie) Mrs. Walter Seigeil, Milwaukee, Wis., and one brother, Percy Brownell, Lowell, Mass. Â Two brothers, Frank and Chancey Brownell, lost their lives in action in World War I. Â The funeral service was conducted by Rev. F.J. Neal of Trinity United Church with interment in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery. Â The pallbearers were Messrs. Merton Seaman, Lloyd Adshade, Everett Hunsley, Howard Wood, James Stewart and Elmer Patterson. Â The beautiful flora tributes were as follows: ... [tributes not transcribed]
