Obituary
TINGLEY, HERBERT NELSON - 1941 - 2014 - Herbert Nelson Tingley, 72, of Waterside, passed away peacefully on April 11th, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital with his loving family by his side. Herb was born in Riverside-Albert on April 17th, 1941 the son of the late Nelson and Thelma (Greene) Tingley. He and his father painted many local signs for businesses in the community. He worked at Fundy National Park for over 30 years, retiring as Painter Foreman. He was also a talented artist. Herb was very handy and could do anything he set his mind to. He took the time to plan it out and got it right the first time. He loved and respected nature and took great pleasure in sharing his knowledge with people, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, and trapping. He also did taxidermy and did it to perfection. He was a founding member of the Shepody Fish & Game and it was important to him that young people were taught how to hunt safely and respectfully. He had a dry sense of humour and will be remembered having great times and fun with his family and friends. He had a love of all animals especially his cats. The most important thing in his life was his family. He would want everyone to remember all the good times and treasure the memories. He will be deeply missed by his loving partner of thirty four years, Beulah Anne Michelin; daughter, Valerie Tingley (Claude) of Riverside-Albert; son and best friend, Herbert Tingley Jr. (Katherine) of New Ireland; his four treasured grandchildren, Tyson, Justin, Kaitlyn, Nathan; sisters, Marion Parsons (Allen) of Alma and Barb Wyers (Baden) of Hampton; in-laws, Ruby Fournier (Rodolphe) of Ottawa, Gwen Michelin; Brain Michelin (Christine), Edwin Rumboldt (Ann), Ossie Michelin (Hugo); Liz Dawson all of Labrador. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nephews Paul and Chris Parsons.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday from 1:00pm until the time of funeral service at 3:00pm. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, April 14th, 2014 at 3:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home. Internment will be at a later date. Donations may be made to the Shepody Fish & Game (Hunters Safety Course) or to the charity of the donor's choice.
