One record shows E. Albert buried in South Portland, ME; Moved to US ca 1905 to Skowhegan ME, then to Prides Corner in Westbrook, ME for a short time, before finally moving to Wynn Road in Cumberland Center, ME to live with his son Frank onJuly 4, 1928. He led the choir for many years in Jolicure, and also in the Methodist church in Skowhegan, ME. He continued in that role at Prides Corner. His mind was clear to the end of his life, and was hard working, taking great pride in work well done.

Edward had deep blue eyes, according to Annie Gifford Oulton.

I have photos taken in 1981 of the old home that collapsed near Oulton Corner in Jolicure, NB that was his home, and his parent's before him. It was out in the middle of a field and accessible by a narrow lane from the main highway. See the note at Annie Gertrude Hicks for a description of the house.

The farm was one half of his father's (Edward Samson Oulton) farm, with Busby Oulton owning the other half with the original buildings.

    Obituary

Anne Oulton Galt, 91, of 755 Central Ave. passed away at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital on Saturday, May 24, 2003.
Born in Madison, ME on September 17, 1911, she was the daughter of George Edwin and Ella Beatrice Oulton. Beginning her education in a one-room schoolhouse, she moved with her family first to Skowhegan, ME, then to Nashua where she graduated for Nashua High School in 1929. She then graduated from Keene Normal School in the Class of 1932, and served as a teacher in the Hanover school system for 10 years before leaving the profession after getting married. During World War II, she lived in Mt. Holly, NJ, finally settling in Dover in 1946.
Anne served in the Wentworth Douglass Hospital Auxiliary, was a president of the Strafford County Medical Auxiliary, and was both secretary and president of the Women’s Auxiliary to the NH Medical Society. She was very active in the Dover community; she served as Ward One Selectman for many years, Captain and Solicitor for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Drives, a staff member of the Dover 350th Celebration and had been secretary of the Dover Chapter of the American Red Cross.
A 50-year member of the Pioneer Garden Club, she served as secretary and director and as Chairman of the Literature, American Home and Music Departments. Anne loved everything musical, and sang in choirs and groups wherever she could: church choirs as a youth, in roles in high school and college productions, the Garrison Players, the General Electric Glee Club, the Dover Senior Citizens Glee Club and, for more than 20 years, she was treasurer for the Dover Community Concert Association.
Ann was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church since 1946; played in its handbell choir for many years and sang in the Senior Choir for more than 56 years. She loved to play the piano for family and friends. At St. John’s she served as president of the Mother’s Club, president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service, and was Membership Secretary for more than 30 years. A member of the United Methodist Women, she was active in the Women in Service Helping Circle, various Bible Study groups, and served as a member of the Administrative Board.
She loved Greek Dancing and playing bridge with her friends. Ann was an avid gardener, loved all her flowers and enjoyed the many birds in her yard. She loved life and her independence—making many friends at Weeks, Friday’s, Peppercorns and Strafford Farms after she stopped cooking her own meals. Her energies seemed boundless; her thoughtfulness toward friends and family will be long remembered. Anne continued as many of her activities as her age and endurance would allow, right to the very end of her life.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, John Edward and Sally Galt of Everett, WA, Jesse Andrew and Susan Galt of Dover; two grandchildren, Evan Galt and Sarah Galt of Seattle, WA; a brother and his wife, George and Beatrice Oulton of Windham, CT. She also leaves nieces Linda Oulton, Barbara Anstett and Carol Peterson, all of Connecticut, cousins Frank and Edward Oulton, both of Cumberland, ME, and Dorothy Gould of Colebrook.
Funeral services were held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Anne Robertson, pastor officiating. Burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Those who wish are invited to make memorials in her name to St. John’s United Methodist Church, 28 Cataract Ave, Dover, NH 03820 or to the charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are with the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave, Dover.

    Obituary

    Edward B. Oulton, 85
FALMOUTH - Edward B. Oulton, 85, of Legacy Memory Care, Falmouth, formerly of Cumberland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014.
He was born in Portland on Aug. 5, 1929, to Frank E. Oulton Sr. and Annie Gifford Oulton, the youngest of four children, attended Cumberland schools and was a graduate of Greely Institute.
He was the devoted and loving husband of Barbara Bean Oulton whom he met through Gospel Crusaders. A third generation dairy farmer, Edward and brother Frank Jr., operated the family farm on Winn Road, Cumberland. While farming he also sold equipment and products for Jamesway, Grainger and Dion. He retired from farming in his late 50s when the farm was sold.
He went on to continue working on this same land, now known as The Falmouth Country Club, as a greenskeeper. After overcoming kidney cancer, he left their employ and went on to work as a driver for both RTP in Portland and later with Rowe Ford in Westbrook.
Over the years, he was a volunteer firefighter, served on the Board of Woodfords School in Portland, as president of the local chapter of Good Sam's RV Club (The Lake Region Wanderers), and was a member of the Maine Farm Bureau where he was a strong advocate for Maine farmers.
Always a man with a strong faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, he served for many years as a Deacon and usher at the First Baptist Church in Portland. People were drawn to him by his friendly nature. As a compassionate and trusting man, many came to him for counseling and his Christian wisdom.
He loved to go camping with his wife and family. Starting out in a small 14' trailer with created sleeping spaces for seven, they would vacation for only one week each year. In later years, he and Barb would purchase larger trailers and finally an RV which they traveled around the country in and spent a few winter weeks in Florida visiting family and friends.
A jack-of-all-trades and mechanically inclined, he enjoyed fixing machinery and woodworking.
Ed will be sadly missed by his wife, Barbara, of 60 years; his daughter Carol Foster and husband Scot of W. Newbury, Mass., and their daughters, Hillary and Megan; his daughter Janice and husband Michael of Old Orchard Beach and their children, Kristen Rodriquez and husband Enrique, Travis and wife Olya, Dustin and wife Elizabeth, Rebecca Brown, and Melissa Dorazio and husband Joseph; his daughter Lois Oulton of Portland; his son David Oulton and wife Jennie and their daughter Katie; son Christopher Oulton of Saco; and great-grandchildren, Owen and Lily Rodriquez. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ed's family wishes to thank the caring staff at Falmouth House and Legacy Memory Care at Oceanview, Southern Maine Dialysis, and Hospice of Southern Maine.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service following on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 360 Canco Rd., Portland, with a reception to follow. Burial will be later in the spring at Blanchard Cemetery, Falmouth. Please visit www.advantageportland.com to sign Ed's guestbook and to leave memories and condolences for the family.
Contributions may be made online in his memory to Wycliffe Bible Translators and the American Diabetes Association.

    Obituary

CUMBERLAND -- Diane Oulton Roberge, 61, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2013, as a result of complications of lifelong juvenile diabetes. She was born on Aug. 28, 1951, one of five children of Evelyn (Maxwell) and Frank Oulton. She was educated in Cumberland schools and graduated from Greely High School, Class of 1969.
A talented artist she went on to study at the Maine School of Art in Portland. She cultivated her art throughout her life until her vision began to fail. She adapted and went from pencil artwork to using a Sharpie.
She met and married Edward Roberge of Yarmouth, who happened to be in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Great Britain, and they lived there for three years. Being of English and Scottish descent Diane had a deep and abiding interest in all things English. Fully aware of the challenges pregnancy presented her given her diabetes she courageously became pregnant and gave birth to their daughter, Heather.
Diane will be remembered for her remarkable love for her three grandchildren. To say that the sun rose and set on Liam, Zoe and Aoife could be seen as an understatement in the eyes of those who knew her best.
Diane is survived by her daughter Heather Gordon and her husband Marc and their children, Liam, Zoe and Aoife of Matawan, N.J.; her father Frank Oulton of Falmouth; her three sisters, Nancy Smith of Cumberland, Sarah Lavelle and her husband Paul of Colorado, Ellie Barry of Cumberland, her brother Paul Oulton and his wife Betsy of Falmouth; her cousins Frankie and Ralph Oulton of Cumberland; as well as nieces and nephews.
A time of gathering and visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, from 1-3 p.m., with tributes being offered at 2:30 p.m., at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth. Please visit www.lindquistfuneralhome.com to view a video collage of Diane's life and to share condolences, memories and tributes with her family.
Diane was a strong advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Please consider making a donation in her name to: Juvenile Diabetes Foundation International
