    Obituary

    Frederick(Fred) Burke Roberts
Frederick(Fred) Burke Roberts, 78, of Amherst; born in Sackville, N.B.; passed away peacefully at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, on Friday,October 5, 2018. Born in Sackville, N.B. he was the son of the late Leonard and Margaret (Burke) Roberts. Fred and his siblings lived in approximately 18 different houses in and around Joggins and River Hebert in as many years, preceding his move to Toronto in 1965, for 35 years. Fred enjoyed his time as a trained radio television repair and test technician for Admiral Television in Port Credit. He then moved on to DeHavilland Aircraft (later Bombardier) working as a testshop avionics and wiring inspector. He never lost his love of taking things apart and rebuilding them. His career path and job choices were determined by the benefits his children would be entitled to. He will be sadly missed by his son Terry and his loyal bobtail tuxedo cat (and best friend) Lucky in Amherst; and is also survived by his twin sons Frederick and Patrick of River Hebert; his sister Marjorie Ferguson of Moncton and Philip Roberts of Albert County as well as many nephews, nieces and close cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Paul, Emmerson, Edmund, Billy, Douglas, and Gerald, and sisters Maryanne and Betty. At his request, his body was donated to the Dalhousie Human Body Donation Program to assist medical students in training. Interment of his ashes will be at his mother's grave at a later date. No funeral service will be held. In times where events and drama weighed him down, he never became bitter, but he wondered why people could be so cruel. A fitting last request is that each of those who cared for him commit a simple act of kindness for someone that matters. Special thanks to Amy, Kim and Dr. Short in Palliative Care, The VON (Toni), as well as the dedicated RNs, LPNs and CCAs and staff at the hospital who aided him in his final 3 months.
