SACKVILLE (Special) - Aylesford Wells, 89, of Point de Bute, died Sunday at Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville.
Born in Point de Bute, he was a son of the late Ephraim and Alameda (Oulton) Wells, and a member of Wesley United Church, Point de Bute, Dorchester Senior Citizens Club and Senior Citizens Bowling Club. Twice married, his first wife, the former Allie Loretta Trenholm, died in 1967.
He is survived by his second wife, the former Aletha McGee; five sons, William and Harold, both of Point de Bute, Raymond of Sackville, Everett of Saint John and Ronald of Hamilton, Ont.; a daughter, Mrs. William Morice (Rita [Reta]) of Sackville; a step-son, Lawrence Craighead of Peterborough,
Ont.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald Frederick (Kathleen) of Campbellford, Ont.; a sister, Mrs. Sara House of Milton, Ont.; a step-brother, Clarence McGee of Sterling, Ont.; 24 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
The body is at Jones Funeral Home, Sackville. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at Wesley United Church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Sackville Cemetery.

SACKVILLE, NB - Mrs. Alice M. Suthern, age 86, of Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, NB and formerly of Rockport, (Wilbur's Cove), NB, passed away in Sackville, NB on Friday, September 19, 1997. Born on June 1, 1911 in Brooklyn, NB she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Clarissa (OULTON) Ward. Alice retired from D.O.T. #5 Supply Depot Moncton with 23 years service. A member of the Rockport United Church, Alice and her late husband, Frank, were instrumental in organizing the visitations and suppers for the visiting Memory Lane Singers. She will be sadly missed by her son, Orville of Dieppe; her sister, Frances Keenan of Moncton; her brother, Frank Ward of Kelowna, BC and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank S. Suthern in 1971 and by her three brothers, Stewart, Reuben and Roy Ward; her five sisters, Emma, Teckla, Julia, Ina and Nina. Visitation is at Tuttle Bros. Funeral Home on Sunday, September 21, 1997 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, September 22, 1997 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. The funeral service will be held from Tuttle Bros. Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September 23, 1997 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Eldon Hay officiating. Interment is in the Garden of Apostles, Fairhaven Memorial Gardens Moncton. Donations to the Memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Ward, Frank Major

WARD, FRANK MAJOR born on Sept. 14, 1921 passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2007 at the age of 86 with his loving wife and family by his side.

Frank is survived by his wife Doris (nee Melnechuk); six children; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild, all of whom brought him great joy and amusement. Also survived by his twin sister Frances Jean Keenan and his nephew William McFadden, both of Moncton, N.B.; his niece Gertrude (Weldon) Pacholzuk of Penticton, B.C.; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Frank was born in Rockport, N.B., the son of Frank and Clarissa Ward. He served four years in World War II with the 14th Field Ambulance Corps. He was employed by the CPR in Calgary for 34 years, then retired to Kelowna, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that a donation be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

The death of Hilda Dixon, 92, of Sackville occurred at St. John Regional Hospital on Friday, May 29, 1998. Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Amasa and Dormer (OULTON) Hicks. Twice married she was first married to William Atkinson and laterly to John Dixon with whom was celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by two sons, Edward Atkinson, Bowmanville, Ont., and Roy Atkinson, Chiliwack, B.C.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including William (Rose) Holmes, Sackville, Sally (Kevin) Evans and Wanda (Dana) Bradshaw, both of Hampton, and Carol Atkinson of Sackville, who resided with her during their growing years; two sisters, Alice Bembridge and Marion Hicks, both of Sackville. In addition to her two husbands, Will Atkinson and John Dixon she was predeceased by children, Carl and Georgina and by infants Holly and Donald, and by sisters, Daisy and Molly. The remains rested at Jones Funeral Home, Sackville where funeral service was held on Monday, June 1, 1998, Rev. Dr. Eldon Hay officiating. Burial in the Point de Bute Cemetery.

Born in Point de Bute, he was a son of the late Aylesford and Loretta (Trenholm) Wells. He owned and operated a garage in Point de Bute for many years before owning and operating Seafood Express until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Jones; son, Richard and wife Susan, Point de Bute; sister, Reta Morris [s/b Morice], Sackville, N.B.; brothers, Harold, Point de Bute; Raymond, Mount Whatley, N.B.; Ronald, Hamilton, Ont.; Everett, Saint John, N.B.; grandchildren, Lisa, Melanie and Gregory; several nieces and nephews. WELLS, HAROLD DOUGLAS - December 22, 1923 - September 11, 2012 - Point de Bute, N.B. - It is with sadness the family of Harold D. Wells, announce his passing at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Harold was 88 years of age. Born in Sackville, N.B. on December 22, 1923, he was the son of the late Aylesford and Allie Loretta (Trenholm) Wells. Harold served in the Army during World War II with the Royal Canadian Reinforcement Regiment, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville, as well as a member of the Baie Verte Senior Citizens Club. Harold worked in the moulding shop at the Enterprise Foundry in Sackville for a number of years before going into Burner Service work until his retirement. Raymond Charles Wells August 10, 1926-March 14, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond C. Wells on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Raymond passed away peacefully at the age of 88, with his loving daughter by his side.
Born on August 10, 1926 in Point de Bute, N.B., he was the son of the late Aylesford and Allie Loretta (Trenholm) Wells.
Raymond was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26, in Sackville, N.B. He worked at Enterprise Foundry for 35 years and when it closed was employed as Commissionaire at various local establishments. He was a devoted husband for 67 years, a father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, who will be sadly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
Raymond will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley (Estabrooks) Wells; his four sons, Stephen of Cambridge, Ontario, Stanley (Darlene) of Sackville, N.B., Douglas (Diane) of Greenwood, BC and Timothy (Donna) of Sackville, N.B.; his daughter, Pat (Dale) Miner of Aulac, N.B.; his foster daughter, Katherine Richard of Sackville, N.B.; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Rita Morice of Sackville, N.B.; his brother, Everette (Lynn) of Sussex, N.B. and by several nieces and nephews.

WELLS, Ronald Reece Born December 7, 1933 in Pointe DeBute, NB and passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 with his children at his side. He sadly leaves behind his loving wife Rosalee, children Shelley (Wayne), Janice (Scott), Stephanie (David), Kevin and Marnie (Nick). He will always be remembered as Butty to his ten cherished grandchildren. Ron followed his love, Rosalee, to Hamilton in 1952 where he raised his family and worked for the City of Hamilton. POINT DE BUTE, NB - Herman Wells, 78, of Point de Bute, NB, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born on March 31, 1924 in Sackville, NB, he was the son of Evelyn and of the late Leslie Jones. Herman was a member of the Carlton and York Regiment of the Canadian Army and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 26, Sackville, for fifty-five years. He worked for Auto Haul Away Ltd. in Moncton, NB, for many years. Herman is survived by his wife Betty Steel Smillie Wells of Sackville, NB; his mother Evelyn of Ontario; five daughters, Verna (Wayne) Frew of Moncton, NB, Betty Anne (Steve) Stathis of Australia, Sheila (Albert) Sweeney, Toronto, Ontario, Margaret (Glen) Murdock of Australia and Lorna Wells of Oromocto, NB; four sons, Bill (Alida) Wells of Northern Ontario, John (Cathy) Wells of Moncton, NB, Charles Wells of Moncton, NB, and James (Cheryl) Wells of Sackville, NB; three sisters, Mary, Marjorie and Doris, all of Ontario; three brothers, Wallace, Donald of P.E.I., and Leo of Ontario. He was predeceased by daughter Carol Marie and two sisters Shirley Doucette and Marie Gallant. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). His remains have been forwarded to Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, for the advancement of science as requested by Herman. A Legion Service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 7:30 pm from Campbell's Funeral Home, with Chaplain Allan Sears officiating. A reception will follow the service with refreshments provided by the Ladies of St. Marks Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Herman's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Children's Wish Foundation or the charity of one's choice.
