David Jacob
David Jacob, 86, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Villa Providence in Shediac where he resided.
Born June 13, 1931, in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Louis and Béatrice (LeBlanc) Jacob.
He is survived by six children: Norma LeBlanc (late Edgar), Judy Cormier (Hector), Rose Devarenne (Alvin), Jeannine Landry (René), Jeannette, and Roland (Barbara); a brother, Donald; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Laurina née Vautour; his siblings: Laurianne, Fernande, Elizabeth, Victoria, Béatrice, Armand, Louis, René, Robert, François, Julien, and Joseph.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297).
Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, and Wednesday from 9:30 am until departure for Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé from where the funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday,January 17 at 10:30 am.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Armand Jacob, 79, of Trois-Ruisseaux, passed away suddenly at his residence on June 22nd, 2015.
Born in Cap-Pelé on October 3rd,1935, he was the son of the late Louis and Béatrice (LeBlanc) Jacob.
He was a retired carpenter, past-president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Cap-Pelé Branch 91, and a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his daughter, Monique Jacob (Normand Houle) of Markham ON; three grandchildren: Gabrielle, Toby and Bianca; two brothers: Donald of Ottawa, and David of Shediac.
He was predeceased by six sisters: Adelina, Béatrice, Elizabeth, Fernande, Laurianne and Victoria; six brothers: François, Hector, Louis, Julien, René, and Robert.
The funeral service will be held at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé(577-3297) on Friday June 26th at 10:30am.

LENA SLAUENWHITE
1941-2016
Lena Slauenwhite, 75, of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton and formerly of Shediac passed away on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center, Moncton.
Born in Shediac, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and the late Leonie (née: LeBlanc) Landry.
Lena was a lady of great faith and gentle personality. She had a great love for her family, all children and seniors, music, gardening,nature especially "birds" and travel. Her warm smile and positive presence will be remembered at l’Institut Feminin, la Légion de Marie, Friendly Faces Welcoming Committee at Peoples Park Tower and T.O.P.S.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen (Dan) Burke of Moncton; two sisters: Dina (Lionel) Vautour and Catherine Reeder (Normand LeBlanc), both of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband, Lee Slauenwhite in 1983; 2nd husband, Emmanuel LeBlanc in 2008 and also by three brothers: Leon, Gerard and Jean-Bernard.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and also on Thursday from 1 pm until time of service.
Funeral service will be celebrated from Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel, on Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at 2 pm.
Interment in Saint-Joseph Parish Cemetery, Shediac.

LeBlanc, Donald Joseph Arthur - 88, Oxford Junction and formerly of Joggins, passed away Friday, June 11th, 2021 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Joggins on June 23, 1932, he was a son of the late Gabriel and Melinda (Vienneau) LeBlanc. Donald attended school in Joggins until Grade 9, then River Hebert Rural High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. FX in 1954 and Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Allison University in 1956. Donald taught school at Liverpool Regional High School for 6 years, River Hebert District High School for 29 years and taught Driver’s Education for 25 years. He was a former member of River Hebert and Oxford Legions and current member of Joggins Legion, long-time member of Oxford Area Lions Club, honourary member of Amherst Kinsman Club, Commanding Officer of River Hebert Royal Cadet Corp, then a member of Oxford Army Cadet Corp and Member of NS Army Cadet League of Canada. Donald was past Secretary/Treasurer of Joggins Volunteer Fire Dept and Ragged Reef Cemetery. He was one of the founding members of Joggins Youth Club and managed it for 6 years. He was director at Dickey Park Pool for 28 years, where many lasting friendships were made. He participated in and coached many sports teams in Cumberland County. Donald was also a Commissioner of Oaths for Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, the former Joanna McLeod; son, Michael; daughters, Charlene (Mike) Daborn; Joanne LeBlanc (Richard Cormier); son-in-law, George Damery; grandchildren, Jason (Charmaine), John, Calvin (Laura) and Courtney; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan LeBlanc and Marie (the late Chester) Sanford; stepsons, Michael (Grace) McLeod; Chad (Kim) McLeod; Jeffrey (Marianne) McLeod; stepdaughter, Jan (John) Porter; 9 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marie Damery; former wife and mother of his children, Betty (Terrio) LeBlanc. A special thank you to the nurses and all other staff at CRHCC for the wonderful care they gave Donald in the hospital. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, followed by visitation from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford.
