    Terry D. Arsenault
    March 28, 1950 - November 11, 2005
    Terry Douglas Arsenault age 55 of Amherst passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 11, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Born in Amherst, he was a son of William John Arsenault and the late Margaret (Gould) Arsenault. Terry was known as the smallest firefighter with the biggest heart and always considered the Fire Department as his 2nd home. He was a volunteer firefighter with No. 3 Company for 13 years in Amherst and was involved with various committees with the Amherst Firefighter Association. Terry received several awards for his dedication and accomplishments in the Department. He will always be remembered for going above and beyond the call of duty. Terry was employed with Enamel Heating for many years and also worked for Amherst Chrysler Dealership and later with Bordertown Pontiac Buick Dealership until his illness. He is survived by his wife the former Marlene (Porter); two sons Jonathan and Jeremy both of Amherst; one daughter Tanya (Jamie Porter) Arsenault of Stewiacke NS; two sisters Gail (Chester) Kaye of Amherst and Karen (Edward) Hambly of Westville NS; four grandchildren Emily, Kristopher, Matthew and Reaghan; several nieces, nephews and all his special brothers from the Fire Department. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Winnie and Lloyd Gould and paternal grandparents Mattie and Clarence Arsenault. His remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday, November 13, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2005 from First Baptist Church, Amherst at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Tonks officiating. Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Terry's memory may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Amherst or the Palliative Care Unit, Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
