HOLDEN - Mark Richard Strang, 46, son of Marjorie A. (Arbo) and Richard M. Strang Jr., died unexpectedly March 23, 2012, at his home. He was born Dec. 11, 1965, in Bangor, and had been a longtime resident of the Bangor area. Mark was a 1984 graduate of Brewer High School. He was a strong man who loved spending time with his family, especially at camp. He loved animals and children, and will always be remembered for his knack for "winding up" the kids. He is survived by his parents of Dedham and Boynton Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Kim Achorn and her husband, Tim, of Bangor, and Carol Violette and her husband, Sam, of Bradford; and one brother, Michael Strang and his wife, Nancy, of Orrington. He was a devoted uncle to Jason, Alison, Rachel, Eric, Emily, Calvin, Emma, Cole and Thomas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A service honoring Mark's life with a time of fellowship and refreshments afterward will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 30, at North Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church, 31 Main Road, Eddington, with the Rev. Dr. Tracy Reeves, pastor, presiding. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, 31 Main Road, Eddington, ME 04428.
