    Logan Hance Arsenault, age 88, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2011 comforted by his family. Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Thompson) Arsenault. Logan owned and operated a business, Logan's Kennels, that he ran for many years, where he groomed and cared for numerous dogs. He took great pride in his dogs and belonged to the Tantramar Kennel Club. Logan enjoyed going to dog shows and training his dogs. He had a passion for creating floats and entering them in the parades in Amherst and the surrounding communities. Logan was a member of the Holy Family Parish. He will be lovingly remembered by Julie (Basil) Hicks, Brittany Hicks, Kathleen Hicks, Aidan Hicks, Cullan Hicks, Hugh Maloney Jr., Travis Maloney, Ty Maloney, Joey Jr. O'Dell, and several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Grace Dakin, and brothers and sisters Theresa, Martha, Annie, Lillian, Marguerite, John, Clarence, Roy, Stephen & Fred. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11 am, burial in St.Charles - Nativity Cemetery.     Stephen Patrick Arsenault age 83 of Amherst passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash N.S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Thompson) Arsenault. He was a veteran of WW II where he served as a medic and later with the North Nova Highlanders in Germany, France, Holland and Norway. Stephen was employed at the Salt Mines in Nappan, Labrador NL and later for 25 years with Fort Cumberland Hotel from where he retired. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 10, Amherst. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Stephen is survived by his wife of 54 years the former, Olive Wilson; daughter, Carol (Bruce) Hunter of Amherst, six sons, Andy (Lillian) of Hasting, Freddie (Carol) of Springhill, David (Nancy) of Oxford, George (Darlene) of Missouri, USA, Robert (Noella) and Ricky both of Amherst; sister Theresa (Bill) Legere of Ontario; brother, Logan of Amherst; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughters in law, Sandra Parsons and Debbie Arsenault both of Amherst; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Betty Roberts of Amherst. Stephen was predeceased by his four sisters, Martha, Margaret Arsenault, Annie Arsenault and Lilly Rogers; brothers, Freddie, Roy, John, and Clarence.     Alton (Paddy) Bernard Arseneau age 73, of Amherst passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late John and Janie (Coster) Arseneau. At the age of 13 he worked at the Salt Plant in Nappan carrying water to the workers. He later worked in the lumber camps at the age of 14 where he was a truck driver and then worked for the railroad in the Folly Mountain area. When Paddy was 17 he started working for Enemal Heating in Amherst where he was employed for 25 years. He also worked for the Town Recreation Department working in the town parks, mowing the lawns and gardening. At the age of 65, Paddy retired from the foundry division of IMP. He had a passion for gardening, he loved hockey and had a very creative mind. Paddy is survived by his wife the former Joyce McCarthy, three daughters Sylvia (David) Thompson of Amherst, Patricia Arseneau (David) and Tracy (John) Tribe both of Brantford, Ont., two sons Kenny (Tammy) and Elton (Denise) both of Amherst, one brother Donald (Olive) of Amherst, grandchildren Kelly, Dawn, Cynthia, Bethany, Christopher, Julie, Jennifer, Lisa, Illyria, Kyle, Ashley, Owen and Noah, great grandchildren Riley, Branden, Colby, Lanya and Hayden and several nieces and nephews.     February 14, 1927 – March 15, 2014

    It is with heavy hearts we share the news of our father, grandfather and great grandfather William John Arsenault age 87 passing on March 15, 2014 at Glenn Haven Manor, New Glasgow, surrounded by his loving family.

    Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Clarence and Martha (Purdy) Arsenault.

    Dad was the jack of all trades. He worked at Enamel Heating for over 40 years and also at Amherst Foundry. He loved fishing and hunting.

    Survived by daughters Gail (Chester) Kaye of Amherst, Karen (Edward) Hambly of Westville, NS; daughter in-law Marlene Arsenault of Amherst; grandchildren Norman, Cyndi, Jonathan, Tanya, Jeremy, John, Melissa, Greg; 10 great grandchildren; brothers Laurie and Fred; sisters Rose and Marie and many nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by his wife Margaret Gould; son Terry Arsenault; brothers Victor, Joe and Borden; sisters Rita Gates and Kathleen Simpson.

    Cremation has taken place.

    A funeral service will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 at 2 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home (98 Church St, Amherst, 667-9906)

    AMHERST - Borden Joseph Arsenault age 73, of Amherst passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007 at home.

    Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Clarence and Martha (Purdy) Arsenault.

    Bordie enjoyed spending time at his son’s camp and had a passion for hunting, fishing and camping. He taught himself to play the guitar and loved listening to old time music, dancing, his grandchildren and family gatherings.In his earlier years he enjoyed his CB radio and recently spent time talking to his family and friends on his computer.

    Bordie is survived by his son David (Janet) of Brookdale, daughters Bonnie Arsenault (Michael Greene) of Fort Lawrence, Cindy (Paul) Allen of Pugwash and Marlene (Roger) Crossman of Sackville, N.B. and their mother Gail, nine grandchildren Michael, Jillian, Mark, Amanda, Jason, Matthew, Kristopher, Corey and Bradley, two great grandchildren Morgan and Logan, special friend Audrey White and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three brothers Billy of Pictou, Freddie (Sarah) of Truemanville and Laurie (Cindy) of Northport, twin sisters Rose (Ron) Chapman of Brookdale and Marie (Dennis) Smith of Ontario.

    Rose Mary Chapman
    1943– 2022

    It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Rose Mary Chapman, age 78, of Brookdale, NS.  Rose passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
    Born in Amherst, NS, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Martha (Arsenault) Purdy.
    Rose enjoyed knitting and camping with Ron. She loved anything to do with the outdoors. Rose adored her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her dogs.  
    Rose will be dearly missed by her children Paul (Kathy) of Amherst, Michael (Tina) of Saskatchewan and Pauline (Mark) Blacklock of Truemanville; daughter-in-law Fran of BC; twin sister Marie; brother Freddy; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Ronald and son Jeffery.

    Laurie Arsenault Sr.
    1945-2020
    It is with sadness that we announce the passing of  Laurie Arsenault Sr., 75, of Chapman Settlement, NS, on Monday, July 13, 2020, 10:15 pm, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.
    Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Purdy) Arsenault.
    At the age of 17, Laurie began working for Bill Lynch Amusement, operating the Ferris Wheel for many years, then Carnival Time Amusements, retiring when he was 65.  He was a comical man, that loved his family.  He would do anything for anyone.  He loved hunting, time in the woods and outdoors.
    He will be dearly missed by his wife Cindy Thorne; children, Laurie Jr., Cape Breton, Rose Arsenault, New Glasgow, NS, Paul Joseph, British Columbia, Jeanette Arsenault, New Glasgow, NS, Paul David, Chapman Settlement, NS, Scott, Chapman Settlement, NS and Michael, Chapman Settlement, NS; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Siblings Fred (Sarah), Amherst, NS, Rose, Amherst, NS and Marie, Joggins, NS.
    Predeceased by daughter Lorianne; sisters Rita, William, Bordie, Joseph, Victor,and Kay.
    Arrangements are under the care and direction of  Jones Family Funeral Centre,70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where a funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2 pm, Life Celebrant Scott Balser officiating.  Attendees are asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing.  This is a public service, until the building is full.
    Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral costs.
