Diana L. Matthews 1946-2010
Diana Leta Matthews, 63 years of age, of Junction Rd. Springhill, NS, passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center on March 21, 2010. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Catherine (Harroun) Boyce. Diana worked in the restaurant service business for years, as well as hair dressing and ceramics. She was an avid gardener and was a yard saler extraordinaire, also past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17 Auxiliary. Diana will be sadly missed by her husband Darrell Matthews of Springhill; one son, James Darrel and one daughter Tara Lynn Matthews, both at home; granddaughter Christiane Leta Trim; four brothers, Jack, Donald (Elsie Peterson), Robert Boyce, all of Springhill, and Harold (Lillian) Boyce of Sydney, C.B.; three sisters, Helen (Ralph) Henwood of Springhill, Linda (Ben) Thompson of South Brook and Bonnie (Brian) MacDonald of Springhill, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Joyce and Patsy, as well as a sister Nancy in infancy. Arrangments have been entrusted to AH Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill (597-2361). Visitation will take place Monday evening from 7-9 pm, with a funeral service to be held Tuesday, 2pm, March 23, 2010. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Diana may do so to the Lung Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
