ROBERTSON, Charles Alexander (Charlie) - 81, Beech Street, New Glasgow, formerly of Kenzieville, died December 24, 1998, in Sutherland-Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in Barneys River, he was a son of the late John J. and Daisy (Dempsey) Robertson. He was owner and operator of C.A. Robertson Lumber Ltd. He resided in Kenzieville from 1948-1989, before moving to New Glasgow. He was a member and elder of the Barneys River Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the IOOF, Norton Lodge No. 6, Maritime Lumber Bureau and the Nova Scotia Forest Products Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Pearl Munro; daughters, Carol, New Glasgow; Heather, Halifax; sisters, Sophia Akromas, Connecticut; Colena, New Glasgow; Evelyn Snider, Saskatchewan; Isabel, Mayne Island, B.C.; Jean Ray, Kitchener, Ont.; 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond, Gerald Harold, Arthur; sisters, Ethel and Dorothy in infancy. Visitation 2-5, 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. J. Kenneth MacLeod and Rev. Dr. John R. Cameron officiating. Burial in Kenzieville Cemetery. Donations to Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division or Barneys River Presbyterian Church. Odd Fellows, IOOF, Norton Lodge No. 6, memorial service 6:30 p.m. today. Brother lodges are welcome to attend.
