FredTerrio
1925-2012
It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Frederick J Terrio
of Joggins on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Fred passed away at Gables at the age of 86 with his wife Myrtle and family by his side.
Born in Joggins, he was a son of the late Patrick and Daisy (Belliveau) Terrio.
Fred was a proud World War II Veteran, having served in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He returned to work in the Coal Mine in Joggins for a few years then as custodian at the Joggins Elementary School. He worked for 29 years at Sifto Salt until his retirement. In his younger years he played fiddle and traveled the Atlantic Provinces playing with various bands. He was a member of the Joggins Royal Canadian Legion. A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Fred was a true family man who always put his wife and children ahead of anything. He will be dearly missed by them all. Dad to Mom
I’m gone now, but still very near.
Death can never separate us.
Each time you feel a gentle breeze,
It’s my hand caressing your face.
Each time the wind blows,
It carries my voice whispering your name.
When the wind blows your hair ever so slightly,
Think of me pushing a few stray hairs back in place.
When you feel a few raindrops fall on your face,
It’s me placing soft kisses.
At night look up at the sky and see,
The stars shining so brightly.
I’m one of these stars and I’m winking at you and
Smiling with delight.
For never forget,
I will always love you (you’re the apple of my eye).
