    STRANG, Hayward James - 83, Gays River Road, died February 13, 1995, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Port Clyde, Shelburne Co., he was a son of the late Ervie and Elizabeth (Simmons) Strang. He served overseas during the Second World War with Royal Canadian Navy. After the war ended he worked with the Department of Lands and Forests as game sanctuary warden in Tobiatic Sanctuary for 22 years then moved to Shubenacadie where he worked as fire fighting equipment mechanic for 22 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Grant; sons, Ervie, Cape Island, Yarmouth Co.; Roderick, Tillamok, Ore.; Mervin, Sackville; daughter, Verlee, Truro; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, William, Kenneth; sister, Ruth. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie, where legion service will be 7:30 p.m. tonight and funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, Pastor Ken Rains officiating. Spring burial in Gays River Church Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or any charity.

    Hayward married Georgina Nellie Turner 12 Oct 1935, Liverpool, Queens, Nova Scotia, Canada; divorced 8 Sep 1959, Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Georgina was born Abt 1912. [Group Sheet]
