    Obituary

FAGE, Bruce Allen James - 59, Brookdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2008, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, with his three children by his side. Born in Amherst on May 12, 1949, Bruce was the second eldest child of Allen and Lillian (Babin) Fage (Brookdale). He graduated from Amherst Regional High School in 1968 and went to work for Speedy Propane. He could put his hands to most anything, but carpentry was his life's work. He was a union carpenter local 1392. He built houses throughout Amherst and Cumberland County and other constructions as far away as Halifax and Moncton. His craftsmanship shows up in the high school, the hospital and many homes and renovations in Amherst, including the construction of the chapel and the cross at Campbell's Funeral Home. Bruce and his wife, Valerie established Riverbend Realty Developments Ltd. in 1992, which resulted in a beautiful subdivision, Riverbend Drive in Brookdale. In 1998 he constructed apartments in Brookdale which he named the Hillsideview Apartments where he resided with daughter Alisha and her family. Bruce will be remembered by all for his love for his family and friends, his great sense of humour, and his love for lobster feeds. Bruce was a loyal member of the Brookdale Hog Growers Association. Bruce is survived by his parents, Allen and Lillian; ex-wife, Valerie, East Amherst; daughters, Tanya Fage, Edmonton, Alta.; Alisha Fage (Colin); grandchildren, Sydney, Serena and Savhannah, all of Brookdale; No. 1 son, Jerett, East Amherst; sisters, Valerie Chappell (Doug), Minudie; Alda (Ivan) Fromm and Norma (Bob) Milner, both of Hastings; brother, Lloyd (Florance), Mill Cove; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Bruce was predeceased by brother Randall William in 1966. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Family flowers only. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetic Association. www.campbells-amherst.ca
