C.E. (Ted) Ogden 1923 - 2008 C.E. (Ted) Ogden84 of the Veterans Health Center, Moncton, passed away at hisresidence on Tuesday January 1, 2008, after a lengthy illness. T Tedwas born in Amherst Shore, NS and moved to Moncton at an early age.He was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Keith) Ogden. Tedwas a retired sales rep. at Bristol Myers Canada with 30 yearsservice; he was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church,Riverview and was a long time member of the United CommercialTravelers. He was a veteran of the 4th division Armored Corp. andserved overseas from D-Day to VE Day. He also spent a year in Hollandwith the Occupational Force. He was mentioned in dispatches and was amember of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch #6. In hisearlier years, he enjoyed curling, bowling and traveling. Summerswere spent at the cottage at Pointe du Chene. Miss Veda Leila Ogden 1929 - 2007 Miss Veda Leila Ogden of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 24th, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in Sunny Brae (Moncton) NB, Veda was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Keith) Ogden. Veda was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for 3 years and a former employee of Honeywell in Moncton & Toronto, for 20 years. She was an avid bowler in the Moncton and Riverview area as well as in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Veda is survived by her sisters, Elayn Ayles of Riverview, NB, Eileen LeBlanc (Louis) of Pierrefonds, QC, Lynn Ogden of Moncton, NB, Lee LeBlanc of Moncton, NB; her brother, Charles "Chuck" Ogden (Gail) of Truro, NS; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Ogden & Elizabeth Ogden both of Moncton, NB; and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Morris & Arnold Ogden. In keeping with Veda's wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Arnold Keith Ogden The death of Arnold Keith Ogden of Moncton, NB, husband of Myrtle Elizabeth (McLellan) Ogden, occurred on October 16, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital-Palliative Care Unit. Born in Moncton, September 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Keith) Ogden. Besides his loving wife of 52 years, he is survived by his three children; Roxanne Ogden of Saint John Barry Keith Ogden (Debra) of Saint John, Nancy Currie (Dan) of Riverview, NB; his grandchildren Lisa Currie, Andrew Currie, Christopher Keith Ogden, Joshua D. Ogden; his brothers and sisters Ted, Charles, Elayn, Eileen, Lynn, Leona and Veda; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Morris. Arnold was a member of Centenary Queen Square United Church, and was CEO of Moncton Northeast Construction Association (retiring in 1999), Operations Manager for Helly-Hansen of Moss, Norway (Cdn) Ltd. He and his wife owned and operated Ogden's Department Store, Balmoral Court Motel, Marco Polo Gift Shop and three other businesses within Saint John. He was the last General Manager of Manchester, Robertson, Allison Ltd. of Saint John. He was a member of the Simonds Lions Club, Lancaster Minor Hockey and Thistle Curling Club. Arnold was a man who was known for his kind, sincere and genuine character. OGDEN, CHARLES VERNON – 78, Truro Heights and Tarpon Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday morning, July 19, 2011, at his home in Tarpon Springs. Born December 22, 1932, in Moncton, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Charles, Sr. and Florence (Keith) Ogden. Charles and his deceased wife Gerry owned and operated the Canadian Tire Store in Truro for 25 years and also started the Canadian Tire Store in Yarmouth. In 1989, the baseball team he played on, Lewisville Keefe Cubs, was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing, playing darts, bowling and traveling all over the world. Charles is survived by his second wife, Gail Ogden; children, Stephen (Debbie), Dartmouth; Linda (Gary) Smith, Yarmouth; Blaine (Karen), Truro Heights; Robie (Joyce Patriquin), Waverley; Sherry (Larry) Davis, Ontario; sisters, Elayne Ayles, Leona LeBlanc, Lynn Ogden; sisters-in-law, Joyce Ogden, Elizabeth Ogden, Ruth Ogden, all of Moncton; brother-in-law, Louis LeBlanc, Montreal; 13 grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews; Gail’s children, Kimberly Hill, Mississippi; Christopher Lyth, Virginia. Claude Allison Chapman BAIE VERTE, NB - The death of Claude Allison Chapman, age 86, of Baie Verte, occurred on Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Chapman Settlement, NS, he was a son of the late Tupper and Beatrice (Ogden) Chapman. Claude was a school bus driver for 23 years, a member of the Tidnish Bridge United Church and a member of the Baie Verte Senior Citizens Club. He was a charter member of the Senior Citizen's Hall, Baie Verte. In addition to his wife ,Doris (Goodwin), Baie Verte; he is survived by five sons, John (Helen), James (Gail) and Gerry, all of Baie Verte, NB, Allison (Marsha) of Edmonton, AB and Ken Butler of Amherst, NS; nine grand- children; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene (Dora) of Elmsdale, NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main Street, Port Elgin, NB (364-1300) where visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held 1pm on Thursday, October 28th, 2004 from the St. James United Church, Baie Verte, the Reverend Jay Ettinger officiating. Brenda S. McDonald 1951 - 2005 HALIFAX, NB - Brenda Susan McDonald, of Moncton, passed away at The Halifax Infirmary in Halifax on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at the age of 53. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of Doris "Lee" (Ogden) LeBlanc and the late Rene LeBlanc. She was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. Brenda was a former employee of Advatek Systems Inc. She was also a Girl Guide Commissioner, a former leader of TOPS and was involved in the founding of the new Edith Cavell Home & School Association. She is survived by her husband, Micheal McDonald; her mother, Doris "Lee" LeBlanc of Moncton; one daughter, Shonda (Colin) Steeves of Moncton; three sisters, Debbie (Dale) Wallace, Linda (Carl) Wallace and Sharon Hebert all of Moncton; one brother, Terry (Gail) LeBlanc of Moncton; two grandchildren, McKenzie and Stevie; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Rene LeBlanc. Visitation is at Tuttle Brothers Funeral Home, Lutz Street, Moncton on Friday, January 7, 2005 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 am with Fr. Allison Carroll officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe in the spring. Donations made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Dr. Georges-L.
