    WHEATON, Ernest Sterling Orr - 57, 23 Central Ave., Amherst, died February 22, 1998, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in Amherst, he was a son of Doris (Wheaton) Chappell, Tidnish, and the late Edson Wheaton. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1958-1961, at which time he was an avid boxer. He was then employed at Christie Trunk and Baggage. He was a cabinet maker for Bendix General Homes for over 10 years. He was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 10, Amherst. He enjoyed playing the accordion as a hobby. Surviving are his wife, the former Dianne Gilroy; stepfather, Russell Chappell, Tidnish; son, Dennis; daughters, Kimberly (Mrs. Steven Hicks), Pamela, all of Amherst; three grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Al, Wylie, Howard. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst, Rev. Allan Griffin officiating. Spring burial in Amherst Cemetery. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
