RIVERTON - Mrs. Angus Dixon, 83, formerly of Oxford, Cumberland County, died Sunday in Pictou County Home for the Aged. The former Lydia Sophia Mattinson, she was born at Mount Pleasant, daughter of the late Samuel and Alice (Oulton) Mattinson. She lived in Oxford for 25 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Gladys (Mrs. George Williams), Hopewell; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Renia (Mrs. James Fraser), Oxford; a brother, Floyd, Riverview. She was predeceased by her husband and a sister, Martha.
The body is at H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, and will be transferred today to Black's Funeral Home, Oxford, from where funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery, Cumberland County.

WILLIAMS, Gladys Martha - 92, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Hopewell, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2002, in the villa. Born in Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Olivia (Mattinson) Dixon. She was resident of Hopewell most of her life but has been a guest in Haven Brook Manor and Valley View Villa since 1995. Gladys was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hopewell. She is survived by daughters, Joan (Donald) Mills, Hopewell; Betty Barkhouse, Riverton; sons, Glenn (Betty), Bedford; Monte (Heather), Hopewell; daughter-in-law, Doris Williams, New Glasgow; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Leo; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; son-in-law, John. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, where funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Charles MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Foxbrook Cemetery, Hopewell. Donations in Gladys' memory to a charity of your choice.

WILLIAMS, George Leo - 65, 363 Brother St., New Glasgow, died May 22, 1996, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Riverview, Cumberland Co., he was a son of Gladys (Dixon) Williams, Haven Brook Manor, Riverton and the late George Williams. He retired from Michelin in 1991. He was a member of Michelin Social Club and bowling league and St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Trenton. Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Murphy; sisters, Joan (Mrs. Don Mills), Hopewell; Betty Barkhouse, Riverton; brothers, Glen, Bedford; Monte, Hopewell; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Phyllis Benjamin. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
