TRENHOLM, DAISY CHLOE (BURNS) - AUGUST 19, 1909 - AUGUST 17, 2009 - It is with great sadness that the family of Daisy C. (Burns) Trenholm, of Cape Spear, N.B., announce her passing at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, N.B. on Monday, August 17, 2009. Daisy was 99 years of age. Born on August 19, 1909 in Cape Tormentine, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Vaughan and Elizabeth Ann (Oulton) Burns. Daisy lived all her life in Cape Spear, N.B. and was an upstanding person in her community. She played piano as well as the organ for the Cape Spear Church. Daisy was always up for a game of cards and enjoyed bingo in earlier days. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Daisy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend. Daisy will be sadly missed by her children, Donald (Duddy) Trenholm of Cape Spear, NB, Dana Trenholm of Port Elgin, NB and his wife Jean of Ontario, Joan (Ray) Pauley of Bayside, NB, Ouida Duguay of Petit Cap, NB, Keith Trenholm of Saint John, NB, Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny of Port Elgin, NB and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm of Brookdale, NS; sister, Mary Field of Port Elgin, NB; sister-in-law, Norma Ferguson of Cape Tormentine, NB and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Trenholm in 2007; son Vaughn; two daughters-in-law, Patricia A. (Donald) Trenholm and Beatrice (Keith) Trenholm; son-in-law Abel (Ouida) Duguay and three brothers Borden, Harry and Harold and her sister Hilda Blacklock. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Trenholm home, #34 Cape Spear Cross Road, Cape Spear, N.B. Mary Irene Field
1914-2011
The death of Mary Field, age 96, of Port Elgin, occurred peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home, on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Born in Cape Tormentine, Mary was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Oulton) Burns.
As a registered nurse, Mary was commissioned by the WMS to work in Mission Hospitals. She worked in hospitals in both Ethelbert, Man and Hearst, ON. She was a member of the Trinity United Church and the WMS. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and a former Red Cross Volunteer.
Mary will be sadly missed by one daughter, Elizabeth Field of Port Elgin; one son, John (Marg) Field of Moncton; two granddaughters, Kelly (Sylvain) and Sherri (Doug); five great grandchildren, Justin, Gabrielle, Jessica, Riley, and Kate. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband David; three brothers, Borden, Harold, and Harry; and two sisters, Hilda Blacklock and Daisy Trenholm.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main Street, Port Elgin (506-538-2241), from where visitation will take place Wednesday, January 19, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin on Thursday January 20, 2011 at 2pm. Burial will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Trinity United Church, the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of your choice.

With sadness in our hearts, the family of David Harold Burns, 73, of Antigonish, announce his passing after losing his brave battle with cancer. David passed away peacefully on June 23, 2013 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born January 31, 1940 in Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick, David was the son of the late Borden and Stella (Banks) Burns.
Always a hard worker, David started fishing lobster in 1957, when he was only 17 years old He moved to Antigonish, Nova Scotia in 1961. He was very proud of his consulting business, D. H. B. Consulting, which allowed him to travel throughout the Atlantic Provinces, Quebec and the Eastern USA, sharing his vast knowledge and experience of the lobster industry.
David is remembered by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Wood); his son, Jeffrey (Joann Campbell), Port Hawkesbury; Nova Scotia; his daughter, Stacy Juurlink (Garrett) of Antigonish, Nova Scotia; his grandchildren, Sarah Moen, Alexander Burns, Ria and Owen Juurlink (who always made him smile); and one brother, Clarence Burns, Cape Tormentine, New Brunswick.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 pm Tuesday, June 25th in the C. L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. A funeral service in his memory will be conducted on Wednesday, June 26th at 11:00 am in St. James United Church, Antigonish with Rev. Peter Smith presiding. Cape Spear, N.B..- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Borden “Duddy” Trenholm, 83, on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 23rd, 1931 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Lionel T. and Daisy C. (Burns) Trenholm.
Duddy worked in Cape Spear in the woods where he cut logs as well as in saw mills, sawing and carrying lumber. He fished with his father and later on his own and finished his career with Marine Atlantic where he was employed from 1973 until 1996 when he retired. Duddy’s passion was hunting and he was good at it and he loved being in the woods and living close to nature. He also loved listening to bluegrass and old country music.
Duddy leaves to mourn his daughter, Terry Lee MacLelland (Daryl Scallion); sisters, Joan (Ray) Pauley, Ouida Duguay (Leo Vautour) and Marilyn (Lionel) Halfkenny; brothers, Keith Trenholm and Thomas (Nancy) Trenholm; sister-in-law, Jean Trenholm; grandsons, Albert Ceretti, Donald Ceretti (Lisa Arbuckle) and Shawn (Catherine) MacLelland; great-grandsons, Austin Budd and Sebastian Ceretti as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his mom and dad, he was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Wall) Trenholm; brothers, Vaughn and Dana; brothers-in-law, Abel Duguay and Douglas Wall; sister-in-law, Beatrice Trenholm and by a special friend, Viola Boyce.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Duddy’s wishes, there will not be any visitation. There will be a celebration of his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #81, Cape Tormentine on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 from 2 pm-4 pm and all are invited to attend.

Born on January 16, 1934 in Cape Spear, N.B., he was the son of the late Lionel and Daisy (Burns) Trenholm. Dana attended school in Cape Spear and Port Elgin, NB and was a graduate of Mount Allison University. Dana was employed with the Federal Government until his retirement. 1944-2011
Elizabeth L. Field, age 67, a lifelong resident of Port Elgin, passed away peacefully at the Countryside Residence, Port Elgin on Monday, December 5, 2011.
Born in Point de Bute, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary (Burns) Field.
She was a member of the Trinity United Church and the Church Choir. She was a long time volunteer at the Westford Nursing Home.
She will be sadly missed by her brother; John (Marg) Field, Moncton and 2 nieces, Kelly (Sylvain) and Sherri (Doug), 4 great nieces, Gabrielle, Jessica, Riley and Kate; 1 great nephew Justin.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Trinity United Church, Port Elgin on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.

Cape Tormentine, N.B.- It is with deep sadness that the family of Byron B. Burns must announce his passing on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Byron passed away with his loving family by his side at the age of 63.
Born on January 25, 1952 in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Doris Margaret (Allen) and Harold Edward Burns.
Byron loved riding his motorcycle and being on the open road. He worked on the boats in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and he had a passion for being out on the water. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Byron will be lovingly remembered by his son, Sean Burns and his mother, Suzanne Bergeron both of Sept-Iles, Quebec; his three brothers, Thomas (Marjorie) Burns, Gene (Christine) Burns and Danny Burns; his sister, Sharon Burns (Ross); his five nieces and nephews and by his special friend and her daughters, Colombe Fournier and her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Byron’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visiting hours or funeral service. Following the graveside service, a reception will take place at the Cape Tormentine Legion.
