Obituary

Ruby (Oulton) Withers

June 22, 1908 - December 12, 2001

The death of Ruby (Oulton) Withers, age 93, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001. Born in Ford's Mills, Kent County, NB, she was a daughter of the Late John and Isabell (Beers) Oulton. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son Gerald (Rosemary), New Maryland, NB, and 2 grandchildren, Derrick and Jason. She was predeceased by husband Ralph, and brothers George, Nash, Ralph, and Larry.

The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visiting hours Thursday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Barry Todd officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.

Dec 10, 1998 I called Byron to see if they new were the Oulton twins , sons of William Oulton, had moved. Rachael recognized me immediatel y. She said that the one boy Jack Oulton had moved to the family hom e in Christina Lake. However he has a drinking problem and is not t o be trusted. Bill Oulton the twin brother had moved to Kamloops an d is more responsible. The mother of the twins is the nursing home an d Grand Forks, British Columbia and is not expected to live long. Sh e has altimers.
Dec 10, 1998 I talked to Jack (John)Oulton 1-250-447-9343 of Christin a Lake. He said he would be happy to let me go through the files an d copy what i wanted. He said however that he would like to go throug h the files and take out the junk before I came. I told him I would c all again in January.
I also tried to call W.A.(Bill) Oulton in Kamloops but there was no a nswer. Phone 1-250-573-3273 or cell 1-250-319-2219.

Talked with Jack (John Alexander Oulton) of Christina Lake becaus e I wanted to identify the William OUlton that was his father. Appare ntly I do not have his father in file. The father is William Brown Ou lton-the wife Irene Mary Middleton and the twin boys John Alexander a nd William Allen. As of this date Jan1, 1999 Irene is in a nursing ho me and is not able to communicate at all. John things his fathers fat her was Bedford Oulton.

OULTON, Charles Byron 1907 - 2011 Byron Oulton passed away on January 20, 2011 at the age of 103 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Rachel and daughter, Christine. Byron is survived by his son, Alan (Joy); grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Byron was loved by all his family and will always be remembered. She was a lifelong member of the I.O.D.E.; a past member of the Amherst Golf Club; the Lachine Women's Club; the Lachine Lawn Bowling Club; the Women's Auxiliary of the Lachine General Hospital; the Olympic Chapter I.O.D.E.; the Senior Citizen's Club of Kentville; the King's Historical Society and the afternoon Guild of St. James Church, Kentville. Isabel was the devoted mother of Gertrude Crowell (Bryson), Kentville; Margaret Stewart (James), Truro; Carolyn McStravick (Donald); the much loved Nana of Alan (Kelly) Stewart, Scott Stewart, John (Sylvia) McStravick, Judy (Bruce) Dallas, Steven (Nicole) McStravick, all of Ottawa; Gordie (Debbie) Crowell, Hantsport; Stephen (Nanette) Crowell, Bruce (Amy) Stewart, all of Truro, Linda (Bruce) Chaisson, Fall River; Sandra (Francois) Simard, St. Lambert, P.Q., Peter McStravick, Boston. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Charles Read, Iowa City, Iowa and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Victor Wylie Silliker; her brother, Dr. Horace E. Read and her sister, Marion Keirstead. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 2:00 p.m. in St. James Anglican Church, Kentville with Rev. John Scott officiating. Interment at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations to the Victorian Order of Nurses would be appreciated. PORTSMOUTH _ Mrs. Lucy B. (Oulton) Smart, 87, wife of Philip Smart of 133 Lincoln Ave., Portsmouth, died Saturday, July 21, 2001, at the Edgewood Centre.
Born July 20, 1914, in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of Thomas and Edith Oulton. She was a graduate of Portland High School and Gorham Normal School.
Mrs. Smart was formerly employed as a clerk typist at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Besides her husband survivors include two sons, Thomas P. Smart of West Hartford, Conn., and Maj. Peter H. Smart, U.S. Army, of Ansbach, Germany; a grandson, Nicholas Smart, and granddaughter, Phoebe Smart, both of Ansbach, Germany; and two nieces, Dorothy Sawyer of Springvale, Maine and Edith Stanek of Euclid, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home, Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth, on Saturday at 11 a.m. Friends are invited.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel.

Sabra Oulton, a resident of West Roxbury, and formerly of Dedham, died Thursday, December 11th, at the Deutsches Altenheim. She was 88. She is survived by her sister Ruth Crawford of OR, her longtime friend Mary Coffey of Dedham, and many nieces and nephews. Sabra was a much loved surrogate aunt of the late John J. Coffey.
