    Obituary

Mt. Pleasant, April 24 - The passing of Florence, wife of Wilbert Mattinson, caused deep regret in the community which has lost one of its most beloved and highly esteemed citizens.  Her genial personality and kindness of heart won for her a wide circle of friends.  Her illness covered a period of over 2 months during which time she bore her suffering with wonderful patience and fortitude.  Surviving are her husband, one step son, two sisters (Cecila) Mrs. Edwin Johnson, Valley Road; Mrs. Clara Copp, Baie Verte Road, N.B., and two brothers, Fred Oulton, Baie Verte, N.B., and Charlie Oulton, Point DeBute, N.B.  The late Mrs. Mattinson was the second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oulton of Baie Verte, N.B., and would have been 80 years old on April 30th.  The funeral was held on Tuesday, April 27, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and was largely attended.  The service was in charge of Rev. Ernest Myatt.  Hymns sung were "Sweet hour of Prayer", "The Old Rugged Cross", "Thy Pearly White City" and "Shall We Gather at the River" were sung at the grave.  The beautiful floral tributes showed the high esteem in which she was held by her relatives and friends.  [A listing of tributes followed]  Pall bearers were:  John and Jose McDonald, Frank McDonald and Aubrey Mattinson.  Interment took place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
