In 1751, the English intensified their presence with the construction of Fort Lawrence. Pierre moved with his family to au Lac near Fort Beausejour where we find him in the spring of 1755. after the capture of Fort Beausejour the following summer, he crossed over to ile Saint Jean to take refuge at Port Lajoie. Already around age 75 years old, we cannot say whether he died on the island and once again undertook the deportation of 1758 to the island of Saint Jean.(not sure of the trans of last sentence)

White's explanation is that on the 1754-55 census, Joseph, Jean and Pierre Doiron, and Joseph Poirier and Jean (sic for Pierre) Boucher all lived at Aulac. The five families arrived together in South Carolina aboard the Dolphin on November 20th,1755, leading to the conclusion that the wives of Poirier and Boucher were sisters of the Doiron brothers and hence daughters of Jean Doiron and wife, Anne LeBlanc.- note by A.Owen Jan2012

The newly married couple settled at Nappan near Minudie. In 1754 Pierre and his father were found at Chimougui with their families. With the fall of Fort Beausejour in 1755, they took refuge at Port Lajoie on ile Saint Jean. After the Fortress of Louisbourg was taken in 1758, they moved to Shippagan or its vicinity. In 1761, they were captured by Roderick MacKenzie's men who were taking prisoners to fort Beausejour. After the treaty was signed in 1763, they were freed and returned to settle at Nappan. In the Nappan census of 1770, the family appeared to be prospering well... Twenty years later, Pierre's situation was not so good. In the 1791 census, he was in his eighties and a widower: "A list of persons who have been relieved from the capitation tax: Peter Doiron, a poor decreped old man very poor, one shilling". The Nappan Census of 1827 tells us there were eight persons in the house of Gedore Gould. He was a fairly prosperous farmer. He had 80 cultivated acres with a harvest of 25 bushels of wheat and 100 bushels of other grains, 85 tons of hay and 1600 bushels of potatoes. His farm included 5 horses, 40 horned beasts, 25 sheep and 13 pigs. It is probably that some of his children lived with him and served as domestics.
