OBITUARY
AMHERST – Mrs. L. Alice OULTON, 79, of 151 Church Street, Amherst, died Sunday at the home of her son Darrell in Fall River East. Born in Tidnish Bridge, N.B., she was a daughter of the late R. B. and Lillie (Brundage) Davidson. She was a seamstress and homemaker, a member of the Pythian Sisters Elizabeth Temple No 6 and of Miriam Rebekah Lodge No. 36. She is survived by a daughter, Lidy (Mrs. Austin Smith), Oxford Junction, a son, Darrell, Fall River East; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Baxter, Tidnish Crossroads; and Dot (Mrs. Samuel Rice), Saugus, Mass.; a brother Norman H. Davidson, Tidnish Bridge, Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Manford in 1964, and two infant daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Dorothy Ann. The body is in Furlong’s Funeral Home, Amherst, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Maynard Rector. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to any charity.

OXFORD JUNCTION - Lidy Marie (Oulton) SMITH, 68, Oxford Junction, Cumberland County, died Friday, June 29, 1990 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Tidnish Bridge, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Manford and Alica (Davidson) Oulton. She was a member and church treasurer of St. Andrews United Church, Oxford Junction. She was a member of the UCW, Oxford Junction. She was also a member of the Nova Scotia and Canadian Dairy Goat Association. She is survived by her husband, Austen Smith: two daughters, Jane, Oxford; Susan Currie, Dartmouth; a brother, Darrell Oulton, Fall River, Halifax County; four grandchildren; one great grandchild. She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary, Dorothy. Her remains rested in MacDaiarmid's Funeral Home, Oxford, where funeral was held Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Hubert Bartlett officiated assisted by Rev. Obituary
OULTON, Rodger "Darrell" - 77, passed away April 1, 2008, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, Cumberland Co., December 1, 1930, he was the only son of the late Manford R. and L. Alice (Davidson) Oulton. He was a carpenter for 62 years, learning the trade from his father in his early teens. He took great pride in everything he did and for that reason was much in demand. He was a "jack of all trades" having the ability to repair most anything and make it work. Darrell's greatest love was deer hunting and he, along with Keith Austin, built a hunting camp in Gilbert Mountain, Canaan, Cumberland Co. in 1989. This became his favorite retreat every summer and fall. Surviving are his wife of nearly 55 years, Ruth M. (Chapman) Oulton, Fall River; one daughter, Carol Whalen, Nine Mile River; four sons, Noel, Fall River; Stephen, Enfield; Mark, Hatchets Lake and Cory, Canadian Coast Guard, Ont.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; one step great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Darell was predeceased by a sister, Lidy Smith (Oxford Junction) and two infant sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home & Crematorium. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in St. John's United Church, Fall River, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in Darrell's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. John's United Church, Fall River, or a charity of your choice. OULTON, Lucas C. – 20, Enfield, passed away April 8, 2012. Born in Halifax on June 26, 1991 he was the only son of Stephen Oulton, Enfield and Denise Comeau, Belliveau Cove. Lucas graduated grade 12, Hants East Rural High, 2009. He went on to work at McDonald's and Porter Airline until enrolling in NSCC to pursue his love of mechanics. He graduated from NSCC in April 2011 and began working full time with his father at Oulton's Auto Stop. Lucas loved life and lived every minute with adventure and joy! He played hockey, loved downhill sking, motorcross, the trampoline and drag racing. He was always surrounded by his friends who joined in his adventures and shared his life. He is survived by his parents and sister Charlotte Lynn Carrette (Mark), Edmonton, AB; maternal grandparents Anne Comeau, St. Bernard; Melbourne Comeau, Annapolis Royal; paternal grandmother Ruth Oulton, Fall River; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Darrell Oulton. Funeral service 2pm, Friday, in Riverview United Church, Elmsdale, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating.
