OBITUARY
AMHERST - Manford Russell OULTON, 65, of 151 Church Street, died suddenly at the Highland View Hospital. Mr. Oulton was born in Lornville, N.S. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Oulton. Mr. Oulton a carpenter by trade had resided in Amherst for the past 27 years. Previously he had lived in Tidnish Bridge and for four years had been employed as a blacksmith by the Lincoln Pulp Co. in Moose River. He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Davidson of Tidnish Bridge; one daughter, Lidy (Mrs. Austin Smith), Shinimicas, N.S.; one son, Daniel of Fall River, Halifax County; one sister, Mrs. Lottie Beaton, Lornville; and five grandchildren. The body is at Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst, and funeral services will be held from there tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Rev. A. H. Moore officiating. OBITUARY
The death of Vera Mildred, wife of Blair CHAPPELL of Truemanville, occurred suddenly at Highland View Hospital early Tuesday evening. The deceased had not been in good health for the past three years, and underwent an operation a few weeks ago from which she was recovering. She was 48 years of age, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Oulton of Lorneville. She was a practical nurse and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was called upon. She was a member of the United Church and secretary of the Ladies Aid Society. She will be much missed by her family and friends. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Trueman) of Truemanville, Norma (Mrs. Frank Allen) of Amherst, Ruby (Mrs. Raymond Brown) of Athol, one son, Layton of Truemanville, one sister, Mrs. Alex Beaton of Lorneville and one brother, Manford Oulton of Amherst, and three grandchildren. A brother Edgar predeceased her two years ago. Obituary
OULTON, Rodger "Darrell" - 77, passed away April 1, 2008, at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, Cumberland Co., December 1, 1930, he was the only son of the late Manford R. and L. Alice (Davidson) Oulton. He was a carpenter for 62 years, learning the trade from his father in his early teens. He took great pride in everything he did and for that reason was much in demand. He was a "jack of all trades" having the ability to repair most anything and make it work. Darrell's greatest love was deer hunting and he, along with Keith Austin, built a hunting camp in Gilbert Mountain, Canaan, Cumberland Co. in 1989. This became his favorite retreat every summer and fall. Surviving are his wife of nearly 55 years, Ruth M. (Chapman) Oulton, Fall River; one daughter, Carol Whalen, Nine Mile River; four sons, Noel, Fall River; Stephen, Enfield; Mark, Hatchets Lake and Cory, Canadian Coast Guard, Ont.; three grandsons; three granddaughters; one step great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Darell was predeceased by a sister, Lidy Smith (Oxford Junction) and two infant sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Cole Harbour Funeral Home & Crematorium. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in St. John's United Church, Fall River, Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Donations in Darrell's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. John's United Church, Fall River, or a charity of your choice. Evelyn Trueman
1923-2009
The death of Evelyn Trueman, age 85, of Truemanville, NS, occurred on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill.
Born in Truemanville, she was a daughter of the late Blair and Vera (Oulton) Chappell.
Evelyn was a member of the Sunrise Trinity United Church and UCW. She was also a member of the Pythian sisters, Elizabeth Temple # 6. A loving and caring person, she was always available to help anyone in need including her family. Evelyn was a talented person, being able to do crafts, knitting, sewing and making numerous wedding cakes for family members.
Evelyn will be sadly missed by her sister, Ruby (Raymond) Brown, Athol; grandson, Keith (Natasha) Trueman, Truemanville whom she enjoyed taking care of as a child; great granddaughter, Etta; daughter-in-law, Sandra Trueman; sisters-in-law, Ruby Trueman, Sarah (Kenny) Atkinson and Opal Chappell; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl, Step-son Ralph, a sister, Norma and brothers, Albert and Layton.
Evelyn's remains have been cremated under the direction of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (667-8777) from where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11 am, Rev. Philip Read officiating. Burial in the Truemanville Cemetery.

OBITUARY
AMHERST - Mrs. Frank G. ALLEN, 39, of 3 Central Ave., Amherst, died at Highland View Hospital Thursday morning following a lengthy illness. She was seriously ill for the past few months. She was the former Norma Mae Chappell, daughter of W. Blair Chappell and the late Mrs. Chappell of Truemanville. She was born in Truemanville, but lived in Amherst for the past 20 years. She was predeceased by her mother in 1951. Besides her husband she is survied by one daughter, Marie (Mrs. Perley McFadden, Jr.) of Amherst; one son, Albert Allen, at home; her father, W. Blair Chappell of Truemanville; two sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. Carl Trueman) of Truemanville; Ruby (Mrs. Raymond Brown) of Athol; one brother, Layton Chappell of London, Ont.; three nieces and one nephew. Her body is at Furlongs Funeral Home. Funeral service will be from the funeral home Saturday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. E. Theo Crozier. LONDON, Ont. - The death of Layton Walter CHAPPELL, age 73, occurred at the London Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000. Guy Edgar Oulton
1930-2009
OULTON, Guy Edgar, born March 17, 1930; passed away peacefully in the home he was born in Baie Verte, NB, with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Wendy (Mountain); son, Shawn Oulton (Michelle Myers), Eastern Passage; Erin (Oulton) Allen (Jason Hamel), Amherst; six grandchildren, Jerrick, Jordan, Austin, Shelby, Olivia and Cash.
He was predeceased by his father Edgar Oulton, mother Helen (Strang) Oulton, and brother Donald Oulton.
Guy, “The Fonz”, will be sadly missed by many members of the community, and remembered for always being there to lend a helping hand.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Colleen, and the rest of the nurses with Extra Mural, for their support and guidance as we helped Guy on his courageous journey home.
Cremation has been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, NB.
In respect of Guy’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial will be held on Monday, December 14, at the Tidnish Bridge Community Hall, from 6-8pm. We ask that family and friends join us to share stories and celebrate Guy’s life with us.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Guy’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
He will be missed and forever loved.

Obituary
The passing of Linda D. Gould McDonald of Fredericton, NB, wife of David McDonald occurred on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 11, 1946 in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys (Beaton) Tooke. Linda worked as the Director of the Forest Products Commission for the New Brunswick Department of Natural Resources. She was a past member of the Rotary Club, Zonta and Children’s Wish Foundation.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by son, Blaine Anthony Gould; chosen son, Wesley Craig Hatfield; stepsons, Peter Stanley Gould, Barry Gould, and Brian Gould; stepdaughter, Reva Grace Grey; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Glendon Ross Tooke, and Alex Blair Tooke; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Stan Gould; brother, Ralph Francis Tooke; sister, Penny Lynn Colpitts.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2 pm. Interment will take place at the Trumanville Cemetery, NS at a later date.
