Obituary
Dieppe, NB – Lionel Léger, 93, passed away at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre, Moncton, on Friday, June 30th, 2017 after a brief illness.
Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Albénie and the late Rosanne Léger (nee Belliveau). Lionel worked as a woodsman and a long shore men. A veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 6, Moncton. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Lionel will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Rose Gautreau (Jimmy) of Dieppe and Louise Cormier (Mike) of Moncton; by his four sons, Réginald (Cécile) of Moncton, Eugène "Doone" (Raymonde) of Saint-Antoine, Vincent (Denise) of Moncton and Arthur (Rachelle) of Moncton; by his thirteen grandchildren; by his eighteen great grandchildren; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Béatrice (2011); by his son, Tommy, by a grandson, Martin "Marty", by his daughter-in-law, Patsy, by his two sisters, Florine Melanson and Éloise Sawyer and by his six brothers, Johnny, Philibert, Raymond, Freddie, Emery and Léandre.
Visitation will be held at PassageFuneral Chapel, 625 Mountain Road (corner West Lane), Moncton, on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at the Slumber Room at St. Paul de Kent RC Church, 6476 Route 515, St. Paul de Kent from 2:00 pm till 3:45 pm. Branch# 6 of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding a service at 3:50 pm at the funeral chapel on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Funeral service will be held at St.Paul de Kent RC Church, 6476 Route 515, St. Paul de Kent,  on Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at 4:00 pm.
Donations to the CHU Dumont foundation would be appreciated by the family.
