Obituary
BernardJoseph LeBlanc
1954-2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Joseph LeBlanc of Quispamsis, formerly of Cap Pelé, after a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 2, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 27, 1954 in Petit Cap, he was the son of Gerard W. LeBlanc and the late Alice (Gallant) LeBlanc.
For 25 years Bernard was a painter and sandblaster at the Saint John Shipyard. He was a member of Local 1151 and 1936 of the Painters and Allies Trades, until his sickness.
Bernard's interests and hobbies were doing things with his daughters. He had many fond memories of watching them play softball, the vacations to Disney World and a camping trip to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays. He liked playing darts, poker and crib but was the happiest when he started playing drums in his younger years and formed a band called CBG's with his best buddies, George, Evérard, Jean-Guy and Jean, all of Cap Pelé.
Bernard will be greatly missed by his three daughters, Tanya (Lori) LeBlanc of Fredericton, Penny (Kwasi) Marfo and Bonnie LeBlanc both of Saint John and three granddaughters: Savannah, Leah and baby, Afiyah. His family meant the world to him and he was very proud of them. He is also survived by his special friend, Dawnita Carhart and his former wife, Judy (Bourque) LeBlanc; as well as many friends and relatives.
Besides his mother Alice in 1995, he was also predeceased by his only sister, Géraldine LeBlanc in 1971.
Arrangements entrusted to Frenette Funeral Center, 2642, Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, with visitation on Wednesday, March 6th, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. ONLY. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Timonthy’s R.C. Church, Shemogue, on Thursday, March 7th, at 11 am. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery, at a later date.
For those who wish, donations may be made to a local SPCA. Online donations and condolences may be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com
