    Ethel Margaret Ryan
    RYAN, Ethel Margaret, RN - It is with great sadness that we, the family of Ethel Ryan announce the passing of our sister, aunt, great aunt and friend of Ethel Ryan on August 14, 2010 in Halifax, NS. Born in Joggins, NS, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Ella (McGovern) Terrio. She was a graduate of the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing and was an active member of the Halifax Infirmary Nurses Alumni Association; a member of Saint John the Baptist Church and a devoted Choir Member. Ethel was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed reading, square dancing, sewing, crossword puzzles, and social activities with friends. She is survived by her sister Karen Birney of Ont., brother Ronald Terrio of Joggins, NS. As well as her niece Carmella and her Nephews Kevin Terrio and Vincent Terrio; her great nieces Deanna and Catherine Baker of Halifax, Abby Terrio of NB and greatnephew Devon Terrio of Halifax. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her loving husband Edmond Ryan. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax. A funeral service for Ethel will be held on Thursday August 19, 2010 at 10am at Saint John the Baptist Church 26 Purcell's Cove Rd Halifax with Father Joseph Thomas Officiating. Burial will be held at the Ragged Reef Cemetery at noon on August 20, 2010. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
