Délia Niles 1918-2007 Délia Niles, 89, wife of the late Aimé Niles of Gaspé Street, Dieppe and formerly of Shediac passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, following a lengthy illness. Born in Saint-André, August 7, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Émilienne (Bourgeois) LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, Délia was employed with the Moncton Hospital. Stella Cormier
1924-2014
Stella Cormier, 90, passed away on Thursday February 20, 2014 at the Auberge du Soleil Special Care Residence in Dieppe. Born on January 12, 1924 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Émilienne (Bourgeois) LeBlanc.
A resident of Cap-Pelé most of her life, Stella moved to Shediac where she resided at Residence Belcourt for 24 years. The last four years of her life she resided at Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, where she felt comfortable with the residence and caring staff.
She is survived by two daughters: Ella Wagner (Barry) of Moncton and Marie Boudreau of Shediac; three sons: Ola (Jeannette) and Paul Melanson (Brenda) all of Grand-Barachois and Legis (Huberte) of Dieppe; two daughter in-laws: Anne-Marie Cormier (late Ovide "Bibi") of Shediac and Gisèle Cormier (late Roger) of Bas-Cap-Pelé; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel (1979); two sons: Roger and Ovide "Bibi"; four sisters: Anita, Dorice, Delia and Madeleine; four brothers: Robert, Eloi, Emery and Damien.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visiting hours Sunday February 23, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Monday from  9:30 am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Monday February 24, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Flora McKinnon
1924-2016

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Flora Mary McKinnon, age 92, of Joggins, NS.  Flora passed away peacefully at Gables Lodge on Sunday, October 23, 2016 with her family by her side.
Born in Joggins, NS, she was a daughter of the late Sylvain and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Vienneau.
She was a member of the Joggins Legion Auxiliary, Branch #4, and a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church.  She loved to gather and enjoy berries of the season.  Flora was a loving and giving person and especially adored all children.  
She is survived by children; Shirley Comeau (Bernell), River Hebert, Ruby Comeau (Gornald), River Hebert, Eleanor Poplar (Keith), Brookdale, Joan McKinnon, Joggins, Joyce Mahoney (Travis), Westville, NS, Linda Jackson (Walter), Leicester, NS; Bernice Shipley (David), Brookdale; Marie McKinnon (Ivan Arseneau), Brookdale; Margaret Dwyer (Rick), Maccan, NS, John McKinnon, (Beverly) Amherst, NS, Bruce (Michelle) McKinnon, River Hebert;  Corinne McKinnon (Mervil Rushton), Leicester, NS, Maurice McKinnon, Joggins, several grandchildren, great and greatgreat grandchildren; sister-in-law Annie Vienneau, Dartmouth, NS.

Ola L. LeBlanc

Ola L. LeBlanc, 81, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Waverley Ave., Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday February 21, 2012. Born in Saint André, he was the son of the late Theophile and Ida (Allain) LeBlanc. Ola was retired from Boudreau Sheet Metal Works with 20 years service. He enjoyed bowling at Fairlanes, woodcarving, drawing, playing guitar and violin, watching sports, especially boxing and hockey (avid Montreal Canadiens fan), socializing with his friends and spending time with his family.

1933-2008

Doris Goguen, 75, passed away suddenly at her residence in Cap-Pelé on Monday, December 22, 2008. Born September 7, 1933 in Saint-André, she was the daughter of the late Théophile and Ida (Gallant) LeBlanc. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Goguen worked at Four Seasons Restaurant in Shediac, and then with School District #11.

Philomon Bourgeois
December 6, 1942  ~  January 20, 2019  (age 76)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philomon Bourgeois, 76, on Sunday January 20, 2019 at the Center hospitalier universitaire Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont surrounded by his family.
Born in Pré-d'en-Haut, he was the son of the late Amable and Laura (LeBlanc Cormier) Bourgeois.
An electrician by trade, he had a career at the Université de Moncton for more than 35 years.  Husband, father, grandfather and friends, Philomon has touched the lives of many on his way with his help, support and encouragement.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannine (née Belliveau), his children Thérèse (Paul Bérubé) Cornwall Ontario, Daniel (Stéphanie Couture) Pré-d'en-Haut as well as two grandchildren Michelle and Marc.  He also leaves to mourn four sisters; Rita (Aurèle Belliveau) Pré-d'en-Haut, Florence (late Valerie Bourque) Moncton, Aline (Albert Cormier) Waltham Mass and Dorine (Gérard Boudreau) Pré-d'en-Haut as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister Thérèse and a brother Edgar.
The visits will take place at the Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook, Wednesday January 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday January 24 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  The funeral will take place at Notre Dame de l'Annonciation church, Pré-d'en-Haut, Thursday January 24 at 11 a.m.
We thank his friends, neighbors, relatives and the entire health care team who accompanied him and supported him during his illness.

Louis Landry
1934-2020
Louis Landry, 85, of Riverview (formerly of Dieppe) passed away on Monday, February 24th, 2020, at the Moncton Hospital.  Born in Cap-Pele, he was the son of the late Adelard and late Florence (LeBlanc) Landry.
 
Louis was a machinist with the CN for 42 years.  He will be sadly missed by his long time soul mate Gail Roberts, 2 daughters: Annette of Cap-de-Cocagne and Nicole of Moncton; 4 sons: Bernard of Calgary, Dr. Claude of Montreal, René of Cap-de-Cocagne and Gilles (Francine) of Dieppe; 1 brother: Marcel (Marguerite) of  Moncton; 2 grandchildren: Jennifer and Monica; 3 great grandchildren: Danika, Bianka and Zander; 2 great-great grandchildren: Dawson and Paislee and several nieces and nephews.
Louis was predeceased by one daughter Louise (1961); 3 sisters: Maria, Sylvia and Thérèse; and one brother: Antoine.
 
Visitation will be held from Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe (857-1901), on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 2-4pm and Friday February 28, 2020, from 9:30 am until time of departure.
Funeral Mass will be held at Sainte-Thérèse Church, Dieppe, NB, Friday, February 28, 2020 at 11am.
Intermentat Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
Donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated.
Visitation thursday from 7 to 9 pm canceled because of the storm.

Yolande Rousselle
1945-2016
Yolande Rousselle, 71, wife of the late Pascal Rousselle of the Villa Providence in Shediac, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 after a long illness at her residence. Born July 16, 1945 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Thadée and Doris (LeBlanc) Cormier.
She is survived by her two children: Bernice Rousselle-Babineau (Ronnie) of Richibouctou-Village and Bernard (Natalie) of Cap-Pelé; two sisters: Albertina Léger (Clarice) and Délia Vautour (Antoine) both of Cap-Pelé; four grandchildren: Mathieu, Tyler, Jérémie and Monica and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Pascale and a brother Réginald.
A private funeral service was celebrated on Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Frenette Chapel and Cremation Centre. Inurnment was in the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. parish cemetery, Cap-Pelé.
In memory of Yolande, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association be appreciated.

Roger Cormier
1949-2013


Roger Cormier, 64, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Friday November 1st, 2013 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on January 27th, 1949 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of Stella (LeBlanc) Cormier of Dieppe and the late Lionel Cormier.
A lifelong fisherman Roger began his fishing with his father at the young age of 13. He was also an avid Montreal Canadians Fan. Besides his mother, he will be sadly missed by his wife of 45 years, Gisèle (Gaudet); three children: Mario (Monique) and Marc (Donna) of Bas-Cap-Pelé and Sylvie Cormier (Guy Gallant) of Cap-Pelé; two sisters: Ella Wagner (Barry) of Moncton, Marie Boudreau of Shediac; three brothers: Ola (Jeannette) of Grand-Barachois and Légis (Huberte) of Dieppe, Jean-Paul Melanson (Brenda) of Grand-Barachois; six grandchildren: Josie, Ghislain, Patrick, Danie, Karine and Cedric; one sister in-law: Anne-Marie Cormier of Shediac, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he is predeceased by a brother, Ovide "Bibi" on November 1st, 2008.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church, Cap-Pelé, on Wednesday November 6th, 2013 at 10:30 am. Inurnment will be in the new indoor Columbarium at the Frenette Funeral Center, Cap-Pelé.

LeBlanc, Donald Joseph Arthur - 88, Oxford Junction and formerly of Joggins, passed away Friday, June 11th, 2021 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Joggins on June 23, 1932, he was a son of the late Gabriel and Melinda (Vienneau) LeBlanc. Donald attended school in Joggins until Grade 9, then River Hebert Rural High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. FX in 1954 and Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Allison University in 1956. Donald taught school at Liverpool Regional High School for 6 years, River Hebert District High School for 29 years and taught Driver’s Education for 25 years. He was a former member of River Hebert and Oxford Legions and current member of Joggins Legion, long-time member of Oxford Area Lions Club, honourary member of Amherst Kinsman Club, Commanding Officer of River Hebert Royal Cadet Corp, then a member of Oxford Army Cadet Corp and Member of NS Army Cadet League of Canada. Donald was past Secretary/Treasurer of Joggins Volunteer Fire Dept and Ragged Reef Cemetery. He was one of the founding members of Joggins Youth Club and managed it for 6 years. He was director at Dickey Park Pool for 28 years, where many lasting friendships were made. He participated in and coached many sports teams in Cumberland County. Donald was also a Commissioner of Oaths for Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, the former Joanna McLeod; son, Michael; daughters, Charlene (Mike) Daborn; Joanne LeBlanc (Richard Cormier); son-in-law, George Damery; grandchildren, Jason (Charmaine), John, Calvin (Laura) and Courtney; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan LeBlanc and Marie (the late Chester) Sanford; stepsons, Michael (Grace) McLeod; Chad (Kim) McLeod; Jeffrey (Marianne) McLeod; stepdaughter, Jan (John) Porter; 9 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marie Damery; former wife and mother of his children, Betty (Terrio) LeBlanc. A special thank you to the nurses and all other staff at CRHCC for the wonderful care they gave Donald in the hospital. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, followed by visitation from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, both in MacDiarmid's Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford. –It is with great sadness that the family of Al McIver announces his sudden passing on May 6, 2018 at the age of 75. He was a son of the late Philomen and Lewis “Mutt” McIver (of River Hebert).

Pauline Waite 1942 - 2005 SHEDIAC CAPE, NB - Pauline Waite, 62, wife of Douglas Waite of Shediac Cape, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the Dr. GeorgesL. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 29, 1942 in Amherst, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanne (Bourque) Vienneau. She was a volunteer with the Saint John Ambulance, Shediac Division, Meals on Wheels and attended Our Lady of Mercy Church, Pointe-du-Chne. Pauline enjoyed gardening and landscaping, spending time with family and friends, and looked forward to traveling to Florida each winter. A loving wife to Douglas of 43 years, devoted mother to Susan (Rod Steeves) and Brian (Lisa) all of Shediac Cape; doting grandmother to John, Jennifer, Megan and Adam, and dear sister to Claudette (Bermont LeBlanc) of GrandBarachois, Agnes (Chris Mew) of Hampton, Patricia (Maurice Daigle) of Bathurst, Mona (Gary Fillmore) and Marie Vienneau all of Saint John; and Douglas Vienneau (Phyllis) of Cap-Pelé. Patricia Diane Daigle
March 17, 1946 – September 22, 2017

It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Diane Daigle, loving wife of the late Maurice Daigle which occurred on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital. Born in Cape Pele, New Brunswick on March 17,1946; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jeanne (Bourque) Vienneau.
Patricia is survived by her two sons; Terry Shepherd (Julie) of Ottawa, Ontario and Cory LeBlanc of Moncton, New Brunswick. She is also survived by her brother and sisters; Douglas Vienneau, Claudette LeBlanc, Agnes Mew, Mona Fillmore and Marie Vienneau.  Grandchildren; Aiden and Amelia.
In addition to Maurice and her parents, Patricia is predeceased by her brother Gary and sisters; Pauline Waite, Debbie and Frances.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, September 25th, 2017 at 11:00 AM being held from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be placed towards the Romero House.

Obituary

Ola LeBlanc
1954-2012

Ola LeBlanc, 58, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at The Moncton Hospital. Born December 17, 1954 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of Geneva Landry and the late André LeBlanc.
Ola was previously employed with DSS in Shediac, a member and past grand knight of the Cap-Pelé Knights of Columbus, and had a big heart and gave many hours of time for the benefit of others.
Besides his mother of Shediac, he will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Bernadine (Cormier) LeBlanc; his two children: Nadia (Marc McLauchlan) of Cap-Pelé and Denis (Sophie Parent) of Shediac; a granddaughter, Mia; his brothers and sisters: Ginette LeBlanc (Paul), Donald (Linda), Jean-Guy (Yvette), Roger (Délia) and Yvette LeBlanc (Jacques) all of Cap-Pelé, Yves of Moncton, many nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Funérarium Frenette, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297). Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time departure to Ste-Thérèse d'Avila R.C.Church, Cap-Pelé, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 27 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
