Obituary
BURBIDGE, Isobel Laura Louise – 82 of Middleton, passed away Monday, September 23, 2013 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Louise (Thomas) Owen. Isobel was involved with numerous youth organizations as well as Nictaux Hospital Auxiliary; Holy Trinity Anglican Church Women, Choir, Altar Guild; Rosemary Chapter I.O.D.E. and Honorary member of New Minas Lioness. She is survived by daughters, Judith (John) Pitkin, Mississauga, ON; Christine Burbidge-Boyd, Lacombe, AB; Maryann Burbidge, Halifax; sons, Gerald Robert (Elizabeth) Burbidge, Canaan, Kings Co. NS; Larry William (Diane) Burbidge, New Minas; grandchildren, Jennifer and Joanne Pitkin; Darcy Boyd; Paul, Andrea, Heather and Mitchell Burbidge and several nieces and nephews. Isobel was predeceased by husband Harry, sister, Mary, brother, George and son-in-law, Stephen Boyd. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 9:00PM, Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, September 27, 2013 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 45 Main Street, Middleton with Rev. Matthew Sponagle officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Nictaux Hospital Auxiliary or a Charity of Choice. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Paul MacLean, staff of Soldiers Memorial Hospital as well as Valley Regional Hospital for their care and compassion.
