    The death occurred at Northwood Care in Halifax, N.S., Friday,Jan. 11, 2002, of Arta Jean (Aitken) Gordon of Halifax, N.S., and formerly ofCharlottetown, aged 93 years. Born Aug. 18, 1908, in Springhill, N.S., she wasthe daughter of the late Henry "Harry" and Ella Mae (Mattinson) Aitken. Predeceasedby her husband of 37 years, Hillard Fulton Gordon. The couple lived in Digby,Dartmouth, Halifax and Bridgetown, N.S. Jean lived in Charlottetown from 1972to 1995 and then moved to Halifax. Jean is survived by her two daughters, PatriciaLangstroth of Halifax, N.S., and Karin (Roger) Allan of Cobourg, Ont.; grand childrenBruce (Jacqueline) Langstroth of Halifax, David (Tasha) Langstroth of Wales, KristaAllan-Raisig (Bernie) of Oakville, Ont., and Megan Allan of Toronto, Ont.; andgreat-grandchildren Alexandre, Nicolas, Christopher, Cassandra and Colin. Restingat the Moase Funeral Home in Summerside. Funeral service has been rescheduledto Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Internment later in People's Cemetery in Summerside.No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations to the Northwood CareFoundation would be appreciated.

    Jean married Hillard Fulton Gordon 16 Oct 1935, Charlottetown, , Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hillard (son of Arthur Leigh Gordon and Martha Winnifred Muttart) was born 21 Oct 1907, Worcester, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States; died 25 Jun 1972, Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; was buried , People's Cemetery, Summerside, , Prince Edward Island, Canada.
