Logan Hance Arsenault, age 88, of Amherst, passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Sunday, June 19, 2011 comforted by his family. Born in Amherst, NS, he was a son of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Thompson) Arsenault. Logan owned and operated a business, Logan's Kennels, that he ran for many years, where he groomed and cared for numerous dogs. He took great pride in his dogs and belonged to the Tantramar Kennel Club. Logan enjoyed going to dog shows and training his dogs. He had a passion for creating floats and entering them in the parades in Amherst and the surrounding communities. Logan was a member of the Holy Family Parish. He will be lovingly remembered by Julie (Basil) Hicks, Brittany Hicks, Kathleen Hicks, Aidan Hicks, Cullan Hicks, Hugh Maloney Jr., Travis Maloney, Ty Maloney, Joey Jr. O'Dell, and several nieces and nephews. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Grace Dakin, and brothers and sisters Theresa, Martha, Annie, Lillian, Marguerite, John, Clarence, Roy, Stephen & Fred. Mr. Stephen Patrick Arsenault
March 17, 1925 - May 22, 2008
Stephen Patrick Arsenault age 83 of Amherst passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash N.S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Thompson) Arsenault. He was a veteran of WW II where he served as a medic and later with the North Nova Highlanders in Germany, France, Holland and Norway. Stephen was employed at the Salt Mines in Nappan, Labrador NL and later for 25 years with Fort Cumberland Hotel from where he retired. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 10, Amherst. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Stephen is survived by his wife of 54 years the former, Olive Wilson; daughter, Carol (Bruce) Hunter of Amherst, six sons, Andy (Lillian) of Hasting, Freddie (Carol) of Springhill, David (Nancy) of Oxford, George (Darlene) of Missouri, USA, Robert (Noella) and Ricky both of Amherst; sister Theresa (Bill) Legere of Ontario; brother, Logan of Amherst; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughters in law, Sandra Parsons and Debbie Arsenault both of Amherst; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Betty Roberts of Amherst. Stephen was predeceased by his four sisters, Martha, Margaret Arsenault, Annie Arsenault and Lilly Rogers; brothers, Freddie, Roy, John, and Clarence. His remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with the Royal Canadian Legion Br.10 tribute service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Scott Balsar officiating. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or charity of your choice

Alton (Paddy) Bernard Arseneau age 73, of Amherst passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late John and Janie (Coster) Arseneau. At the age of 13 he worked at the Salt Plant in Nappan carrying water to the workers. He later worked in the lumber camps at the age of 14 where he was a truck driver and then worked for the railroad in the Folly Mountain area. When Paddy was 17 he started working for Enemal Heating in Amherst where he was employed for 25 years. He also worked for the Town Recreation Department working in the town parks, mowing the lawns and gardening. At the age of 65, Paddy retired from the foundry division of IMP. He had a passion for gardening, he loved hockey and had a very creative mind. Paddy is survived by his wife the former Joyce McCarthy, three daughters Sylvia (David) Thompson of Amherst, Patricia Arseneau (David) and Tracy (John) Tribe both of Brantford, Ont., two sons Kenny (Tammy) and Elton (Denise) both of Amherst, one brother Donald (Olive) of Amherst, grandchildren Kelly, Dawn, Cynthia, Bethany, Christopher, Julie, Jennifer, Lisa, Illyria, Kyle, Ashley, Owen and Noah, great grandchildren Riley, Branden, Colby, Lanya and Hayden and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Pauline Kelley and Catherine Noiles and one brother Walter. His remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev.
