Dorothy "Betty" (Wilson) Betts
1926-2008
Dorothy "Betty" Betts, 82, of Mazerolle Special Care Home and formerly of Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on December 3, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital.
Dorothy was born in Riverside on January 7, 1926 the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Jones) Wilson.
She worked at T. E. Eaton Company in her earlier years, later she owned and operated Maples Canteen with her husband, Laurie Sr., in Riverside from 1969-1973. After that she worked at the Forest Dale Nursing Home as an Aide. She was a member of the St. Alban's Anglican Church. Dorothy was very involved in her community having earned a Service Medal and Long Time Service Medal as she volunteered for the St. John Ambulance. She also volunteered at the Forest Dale Home and also with the Albert County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and had a great time with all her friends. Above all things she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished all the family gatherings and especially treasured the times spent at the camp in Chester. She was a truly special lady who will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed by her four sons, Douglas (Betty) of Moncton, Laurie Jr. (Judy) of Riverview, James (Edna) of Moncton and Ronald of Moncton; by her 7 precious grandchildren, Trevor, Brent, Lori Ann, Stephen, Brice, Jennifer and Kelsey and by her 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Frank Wilson (Carol) of Fredericton. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and by many friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband Laurie Betts Sr; son Curtis; sisters, Gwendolyn and Gwyneth; brothers, Robert and Richard.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, N.B.
For those who wish, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gwendolyn Mae McLeod 1919-2006
Gwendolyn Mae McLeod, 87, of Forest Dale Home Riverside-Albert passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Nursing Home.
She was born on December 5, 1919 in Riverside-Albert, Albert County, N.B. the daughter of the late James A. and Ellen (Jones) Wilson. Gwendolyn was a teacher and in her teaching career she taught in rural schools in Germantown, New Horton and Albert Mines. After teaching she worked for a few years at the T. Eaton Company in Moncton before moving to Arlington, VA. where she was the office manager for Servicemaster Washington. After her retirement she and her husband returned to live in Riverside-Albert. Gwendolyn was a special lady who will never be forgotten.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Ferne Ellen Clements of Cleveland, OH,; two grandchildren, Charles Clements (Patti) of Louisville, Ky. and Jessica Clements of Cleveland, OH,; her four great grandchildren, Natasha, Joshua, Jason and Rachel; sister Betty Betts of Riverside-Albert and by her brother Frank Wilson (Carol) of Fredericton. She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth McLeod (1996) ; two brothers Malcolm and Robert; sister Gweyneth Willett.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will held at the Wesley United Church, Riverside-Albert on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2pm. Interment will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the Lions Club in Riverside-Albert.

Gwyneth Mary Willett 1923 - 2004 ALMA, NB - Gwyneth Mary Willett, 80, of Alma and formerly of RiversideAlbert passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Dr. Georges L-Dumont Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side. Gwyneth was born in Riverside on December 20, 1923, the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Jones) Wilson. She was a homemaker and worked at the No.5 Depot, Moncton during World War II. She was a very active member of the Wesley United Church, RiversideAlbert where she was an Elder. She also attended and supported the St. Stephen's United Church in Alma after moving. Her church work was very important to her. She was a very special lady who was always willing to help. She was past president and secretary of the Forest Dale Home Auxilary. She was also very active as a Volunteer in the nursing home mending clothes and doing all the alterations needed since the home opened. She was also very helpful in the Home getting their first van and also helped in raising funds for the new van. She was the treasurer for the Albert County Food Bank for the past 10 years. She was past president and secretary of the Home & School Association for many years. She was a member of the United Church Women and also was active in the Albert County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Gwyneth was a very active and outgoing member of her community and will be deeply missed. Above all things she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her family very much and was always there for them. Gwyneth's passing will definitely leave a hole in her family but they will cherish the life she lived and look at how she was such a great example for them to follow. She will be missed by all but will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Leslie Stevens of Alma; her devoted daughters, Barbara Haire (Rupert) of Riverside-Albert and Brenda Butland (Clark) of Alma; special nephew, Herman Orville Wilson of Ontario; sisters, Dorothy "Betty" Betts of Riverside-Albert, Gwendolyn McLeod of Royal Court, Riverview, formely of RiversideAlbert; her brother, Dr. Frank Wilson (Carol) of Fredericton; five precious grandchildren, John, Bradley, Darrell, Amanda, Brenda-Anne; a great grandson, Anthony; step great grandchildren, Natasha, Shannon and Emily.
