    FAGE, Kenneth Ernest - It is with the deepest regrets that the family announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Ernest Fage, 86, of Amherst on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Gables Lodge, Amherst. Born in East Amherst, he was a son of the late W. Ernest and Helen (Forrest) Fage (Rector). He was a veteran of the Second World War where he served with the Royal Canadian Ordinance Core (R.C.O.C.). After the war he was employed with Murdock Motors, D.A. Casey Ltd. and Rivers & Dickinson for 30 years until his retirement. Ken was an adhered member of First Baptist Church, Amherst, where he served in many capacities, such as the Board of Directors and Finance committee. Ken enjoyed spending time at his cottage with his three grandchildren and family. His memories will always be treasured by his loving wife of 68 years, the former Margaret Tingley; his son, James (Norma) Fage of Keswick Ridge, N.B.; grandchildren, Paul (Cindi) Fage of Albany, Western Australia, Jon (Maria) Fage of Guelph, Ont. and Jamie Solesme of Crysler, Ont.; seven great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his daughter, Muriel Ann Fage (2008) and his sister, Mae Wells. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 tribute service at 7 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906). Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in Amherst Cemetery.     FAGE, Muriel Ann - 60, Amherst, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2008, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, with her loving family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Margaret (Tingley) Fage. Muriel was educated in the Amherst schools and after graduating from Amherst Regional High School, she attended St. Charles Commercial School. She was employed with MT&T for 30 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amherst. Muriel was very active nationally and internationally as a director of the Canadian Curling Association; as a result she traveled to France, Norway and Germany, and attended numerous international events representing the World Curling Association. She was past president of the Nova Scotia Ladies Curling Association as its director of funding, which began a long and valuable career as an organizer. In 1992, Muriel was involved in some capacity with the Scott's Tournament of Hearts. She was a director of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation and a member of the Amherst Curling Club and Golf Club, as well as a lifetime honorary member of the Dartmouth Curling Club. Muriel was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame. Besides her parents, Muriel is survived by her brother, James (Norma) Fage, Keswick Ridge, N.B.; nephews, Paul (Cindi) Fage, Albany, Western Australia; Jon (Maria) Fage, Guelph, Ont.; niece, Jamie Solesme, Crysler, Ont. Visitation will be held in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906), on Wednesday, February 6, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Amherst, with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Family flowers only.
