Charles J. LeBlanc 1913-2009
Charles Joseph LeBlanc, age 96, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges L. DuMont Hospital, Moncton on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.
Born in St. André, NB, he was a son of the late Hypolite and Amanda (Richard) LeBlanc.
Charles worked for the Fawcett Foundry for 39 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter Elaine (Jean Louis) Lirette, Cocagne, NB; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Doris (Kenneth-deceased) Hicks, Sackville.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Louise Auffrey; sisters Lila (Ernest) Lirette, Bertha (Burns) Garland, Lena (Raymond) LeBlanc, and Louise (Bud) Ball; brothers, Leon (May) and Gerald (Yvonne).
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 2 pm, Father Allison Carroll officiating. Obituary
Doris (LeBlanc) Hicks, wife of the late Kenneth L. Hicks, passed away December 31, 2019, at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, NB. Born in Sackville, she was the daughter of the late Hipolite and Amanda (Richard) LeBlanc.
Doris had been involved with her church, including teaching Sunday School and AWANA and was a lifelong member of the Women's Missionary Society. She was an avid knitter and gave afghans to everyone.Â
She was a deeply devoted and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed time with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Michael (Elsie) Hicks, Moncton, and Linda (Kendall) Porter, Riverview, NB; six grandchildren, Suzanne Clarke, Tricia (Stephen) Hayes, Lana Hicks, Mark (Jennifer) Hicks, Melissa (Todd) Craig, Nichole (Bernard) Martin; fourteen great grandchildren, Connor, Josiah and Naomi Clarke, Brady Hayes, George (Fray), Michael, and Sarah Boothe, Bella, Olivia, and Hannah Hicks, Allison, Marshall, and Selena Craig, and Thorin Martin; one great great granddaughter, Ellie Boothe, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doris was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Leon (May), Gerald (Yvonne), and Charles (Louise), as well as four sisters, Lena (Raymond) LeBlanc, Lila (Ernest) Lirette, Bertha (Burns) Garland, and Louise (Budd) Ball, and a son-in-law, Dennis MacDonald.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300). There is to be no visitation. A funeral service will take place from the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2 pm with a reception to follow. Interment will be held in the spring. Mr. Jock Otis officiating.
Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or a charity of one's choice.
