SMITH, Sherman Francis - 78, 8 MacLean St., Truro, formerly of Bible Hill, died December 20, 1996, in William's Country Home, Hilden. Â Born in Shinimicas, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late George and Arnetta (Mills) Smith Blair. Â He was a member of St. David's United Church and a retired mechanic with Dom-tar Ltd. and also worked with the Corps of Commissionaires. Â He was an honorary member of Bible Hill Fire Brigade; member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 26, and the Canadian Order of Foresters. Â He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Â He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian McNutt; son, Wayne and wife Fay, Kemptown; daughters, Heather and husband Bruce Sandeson; Barbara and husband Steve Smith, all of Dartmouth; brother, Elbert, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Aaron, Andrea, Michael, Kevin, Sheryl, David, Christopher. Â He was predeceased by his stepfather, Crawford Blair. Â Cremation has taken place. Â No visitation by request. Â A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Ebbie Snow officiating. Â Burial in the Bible Hill Cemetery. Â Family flowers only. Â Donations may be made to St. David's United Church or any charity.

S. Wayne Smith 1943-2016
S. Wayne Smith – 73, Kemptown, passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Sherman and Vivian (McNutt) Smith.
Wayne was a member of North River United Church where he served on various committees. He was a truck driver with Midland for 25 years and enjoyed working in the woods.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Fay (nee Donald) Smith; sons, Micheal (Tracey) Smith, Winslow, Prince Edward Island; Kevin Smith (Christine Brown), Red Lake, Ontario; grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Julia Smith, Caitlin Hamilton, Kierstin Smith; sisters, Heather (Bruce) Sandeson, Barbara (Stephen) Smith, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews.
Wayne’s family will receive friends from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2016, in Kemptown Community Hall, Kemptown. Private family interment in Bible Hill Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Wayne’s memory to Bible Hill Cemetery or North River United Church are welcomed.
