    MOFFATT, Charles (Scoop) - 83, Sackville, N.B., died February 17, 1996, in Sackville Memorial Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Sydney, Cape Breton Co., he was a son of the late Robert and Edith (STRANG) Moffatt. A graduate of Mount Allison Academy, he returned to Sackville and was for 25 years editor of Sackville Tribune Post; former executive director of Maritime Motor Trucking Association; general manager of Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce for eight years and former information officer for Mount Allison University. Active in many charitable organizations, he was campaign chairman of Sackville branch of The Arthritis Society at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife, the former Pearl Allen; son, William, Kitchener, Ont.; daughter, Rae (Mrs. Connie Doiron), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; brother, Roy, Sydney; sisters, Jessie (Mrs. Harry Angel), Etta De Young,Sydney; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Memorial service 2 p.m. Tuesday in Jones Funeral Home, 56 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B., Rev. Lorna MacQueen officiating, where a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to any charity.

    SYDNEY Jessie Edith Angel, 91, Ankerville Street, Sydney, passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Thursday, March 23, 2006.

    Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith (Strang) Moffatt.

    Jessie was a member of First United Church, Sydney, the UCW and active in church projects. She was also a member of the Kinettes, Y's Menettes and the Bairncroft Auxiliary.

    Surviving are her sons, Robert (Karen), Amherst, and Norman (Carolyn), Ottawa; sister, Etta DeYoung, Sydney; and grandchildren, Nelson, Meredith, James Ross and Kelly Lynn.

    She was predeceased by her husband, Harry and brothers, Russell, Charles and Roy.

    Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at First United Church, Saturday 11 a.m., Rev. Donald MacDonald officiating. Interment in Alfred Smith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Church, Sydney Y's Men's Club, Muscular Dystrophy Association or a charity of choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at sydmemchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
