SCOTT, Richard - Amherst. With much sadness, we announce the death of Richard Scott, age 39, of Halifax, the beloved husband of Gail Wilson-Scott. Born in Sackville, N.B., he was a son of Russell and Josephine (Stack) Scott. Rick was actively involved in the Halifax community, writing for a local newspaper advocating for the poor and disadvantaged. He enjoyed camping with his brothers and friends, living his life to the fullest. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Rick will be sadly missed for he was dearly loved by his wife, Gail (Wilson), Halifax; parents, Russell and Josephine (Stack) Scott, Nappan; sister, Theresa (Paul) Marinier, Vaughan, Ont.; brothers, Michael (Keri Ann), Meaford, Ont.; Russell-George (Sherry Manzer) and Robert, both of Amherst; maternal grandmother, Alice Stack, Riverview, N.B.; paternal grandmother, Bertha Scott, Port Elgin; aunts and uncle, nieces and nephews. Richard's remains have been entrusted into the care of Furlong Jones Funeral Home (902-667-8777) Church Street, Amherst, from where visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Thursday, December 10, at 3 p.m. Burial in St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery. Donations to the National Camps for the Blind, 6 Bishop St., Moncton, NB E1E 1K5, Canadian Diabetes Association, or charity of the donor's choice gratefully accepted. www.furlongjones.ca
