Obituary
GELDART, RETA MAE (1918 - 2015)
It is with great sadness we announce that Reta Geldart of the Grass Home, Riverview, and formerly of Little River, reached the end of her life's journey on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the age of 96. Born in Colpitts Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Whitmore and Etta (Bannister) Hopper.
Reta is survived by her daughters, Pauline/Polly (Lee), Alma and Anne, Little River and her son, Roger (Dianne), Little River; her grandchildren, Tara, Tim, Shane and Lindsay; her great grandchildren, Brooke-Lynn, Colson, Charlee and Raine; sisters-in-law, Peggy Hopper and Neta Hopper and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Reta was predeceased by her husband, Holly, in 2001. Reta was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by sisters, Alberta and Esther and brothers, Ottie, Roy, Randall and Wendell. Reta will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all her family.
She enjoyed cross country skiing, farm life and her vegetable garden, which she planted and cared for until she was 90. Every summer, she was busy making pickles and canning or freezing vegetables from her garden.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Grass Home for the exceptional care and kindness given to our mother.
A private graveside service will be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM. If desired, donations in Reta's memory to the Nixon Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
