    Clara Walton

    PORT ELGIN - The death of Clara Walton, age 86, of Port Elgin formerly of Murray Corner, occurred at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin on Tuesday, February 19, 2002 Born in Murray Corner, she was a daughter of the Late George and Henrietta (Scott) Stright. A school teacher , she taught in Anderson Settlement, Murray Corner and Port Elgin for 20 years. She was a member of the Murray Corner United Church, former Superintendent of the Sunday School and former president of the UCW. A very creative person, she was a quilter, crocheter and handy worker. She will be sadly missed by three sons, Rodney (Marilyn) and Larry (Heather), both of Murray Corner and Ivan (Sue) of Malden, NB; three daughters, Lillian (Dewey) Trenholm of Port Elgin, Janet (Arden) Trenholm of Fredericton and Carolyn (Neil) Allen of CapeSpear Road, NB; 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Wiggins, Vancouver, BC and Nellie Dulenty, Murray Corner and a brother Henry Stright, Murray Corner. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl Anne in 1957; her husband, Courtney Walton in 1998; a brother, Kenneth. Resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral will be held at the Murray Corner United Church on Friday, February 22, 2002 at 3 PM, Rev. Carolyn Byers officiating.     It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nellie Dulenty
    , Saturday March 14, 2015 surrounded by her family at Westford Nursing Home.
    She was the daughter of the late George & Henrietta (Scott) Stright.
    She is survived by children, John (Ann) Dulenty, Zerelda MacLean, Nellie (John) Grant, Glenda (Mark) Allen, Stanley (Lily), Kathy (Dale) Alder, Karen (Ian) Hurley, Muriel Jordan; son-in-law Sandy MacCalder; daughter–in-law Cathy Ceretti; sister Arlene Wiggins; brother Henry Stright; thirty grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; 9 step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Besides her parents she was pre-deceased by her husband Glenn, Sons Walter and Leslie, Daughter Brenda MacCalder, Son-in-law Bill MacLean, Grandsons Ryan Grant & Michael MacLean, great grandson Noah Dulenty, sister Clara Walton, brother Kenneth Stright.
    Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home.   A time of visitation will be held from their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main Street (538-2241) on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-4 pm with a funeral service to follow Tuesday evening at 6 pm.  William Drysdale DLM presiding.  Interment will be held in the spring.
    In keeping with Nellie’s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Murray Corner United Church, Silver Pioneers Seniors Club, Westford Nursing Home or a charity of the donors choice.

    Mr. Leslie Freeman Pauley, age 82, of Story Road, Moncton, NB, passed away on Monday, February 9, 1998 at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born on June 9, 1915 in Melrose, NB, he was the son of the late William F. and Emma W. (Stright) Pauley. He was a retired supervisor from C.N.R. with over 36 years service. He was a member of The Port Elgin United Church. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Barbara McKenna (Brian) of Truro, NS, Mrs. Marilyn Stevens (Walter) of Moncton; two sons, Robert Pauley (Lynne) of Scotch Settlement, Edward Pauley (Gloria) of Moncton; one twin sister, Mrs. Helen Adams of Moncton; one brother, Eric Pauley of Truro, NS; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Evelyn (Starratt) Pauley and one brother, Reggie.     STRIGHT, Trueman Thomas "Trap" - 82, Pictou, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Little Shemogue, N.B., he was a son of the late James Leslie and Greta Maude (Walton) Stright. Trap grew up in Summerside, P.E.I. A veteran of the Second World War, he joined the Navy in 1941, and served on convoy duty in the North Atlantic and Pacific. He moved to Pictou after the war and with his father and brothers, established J.L. Stright & Sons, which later became Stright-MacKay Ltd. A master boat builder, he served as president of Stright-MacKay, was president of Pictou Kinsmen, King Lion of Pictou Lions Club, Commodore of Pictou Yacht Club, a member of Admiral Murray Branch, Royal Canadian Naval Association, and a member of Pictou United Church. Trap's greatest passions were boats, sailing and racing. Surviving are his wife, Ann Young; son, Bill (Kim) Stright, Pictou; stepchildren, John (Tammy) Young, Halifax; Peter (Michelle) Young, New Glasgow; Lorraine (Paul Phillips) Young, Truro; Dria Young, at home; grandchildren, Josh and Tyler Stright; stepgrandchildren, Logan, Grace, Emily, Allan, Molly, Morley, and Madi; sisters, Vivian (Al) MacPhee, New Minas; Helen Campbell, Wolfville; many nieces and nephews.     The death of Ivy Stright, age 70 occurred Wednesday, January 17, 2001 at the Moncton City Hospital.

    Born in Little Shemogue on January 17, 1931 he was a son of the Late Cecil and Annie (Thompson) Stright.

    A patternmaker with Enterprise-Fawcett Foundry he continued to work until the fall of 2000.

    Ivy will be sadly missed by his 3 sons, Terry (Ruth), Ingersoll, ON, Ronald, Sackville and Cecil (Tracy), Kentville, NS, 2 daughters, Sally de Graaf (Henry), Ingersoll, ON and Sheila Stright, Amherst, NS, 3 brothers, Garnet (Betty), Carlton Place, ON, Leslie (Evelyn), Brantford, ON and Laurie, Ingersoll, ON., 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth in 1988, a daughter Susan in 2000 and a brother Ronald in 2000.
