    BANGOR - Eva M. Price, 101, died Feb. 11, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 21, 1909, in South Brewer, the daughter of James Lee and Mabel (Mills) Price. Eva was a 1927 graduate of Brewer High School and a 1931 graduate of Hahnemann School of Nursing, Worcester, Mass. She did private duty until May 1945 when she entered Army Nurses Corps. After completing basic training at Camp Devens, Mass., she went to Fort Monmouth, N.J., and was assigned to the hospital ship, St. Stauffer, and sailed down the East coast and through the Panama Canal to the Philippines and on to Japan where she spent three years. On Sept. 12, 1945, she arrived in Japan and saw Gen. Douglas MacArthur parade through the city after the signing of the surrender. Her other duties were three years in Germany and Seoul, Korea. Eva also served at Fort Lewis, Wash.; Fort Smith, Ark.; and Fort Dix, N.J. Her last five years in the U.S. Army were spent at Walter Reed Army Hospital, Washington, D.C., and she retired in June 1965. She had resided in Bangor since 1990. She is survived by her sister, Leila Pearson of Bangor; a niece, Phyllis Scribner of Brewer; a nephew, Alan King and his wife, Sonja, of Brewer; great-nieces and great-nephews, Diane Stimpson and her husband, Lee, Russell Scribner, Lynn Poulin and her husband, Keith and sons, Craig and Neil, Cathy Segee and her husband, Bruce and daughter, Molly and sons, Ben and Sam, Andrew King and daughter, Allysa, Sean King, Bethann King, and Christina White and son, Aaron; and several cousins. She was predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth King of Auburn, Mass., and Florence King of Brewer; and nephews, James and Daniel King of Auburn, Mass. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer. Memorial gifts may be made to Brewer Historical Society, 199 Wilson St., Brewer, ME 04412 or Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, activity account, 103 Texas Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.     February 23 1999, Florence E. (Price) KING 86, wife of the late Kenneth. L. KING died at Bangor Maine after a long illness. She was born July 11 1912, at Holden. the daughter of James Lee and Mabel (Mills) PRICE
    A lifelong resident of Brewer and Orrington, Florence attended schools in Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School in 1929.
    Surviving are one son, Alan King and his wife Sonja of Brewer, a daughter Phyllis Scribner and her husband Lee of Winslow, Russell Scribner of Cumming, GA> Lynn Poulin and her husband, Keith of Weare, N.H. Catherine Segee and her husband, Bruce of Old Town and Andrew King of Bangor. Six Great-grandchildren,two sisters, Eva M. Price and Leila Pearson both of Bangor. She was predeceased by her husband in 1989 and by a sister, Elizabeth King. Pastor Homer J. Strand officiating, spring interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Orrington.

    BANGOR - Leila L. (Price) Pearson, 95, wife of the late Andrew Pearson of Auburn, Mass., died Feb. 3, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born June 19, 1915, in South Brewer, the daughter of James Lee and Mabel (Mills) Price. Leila was a 1932 graduate of Brewer High School. She moved to Massachusetts in 1936 and worked in a private sanatorium until her marriage in 1940. They were married in a Friends Meeting Church - Quaker - where they both sang in the choir. They served on many committees and were youth advisors. Leila served as Sunday school superintendent and treasurer. They enjoyed their camp and the outdoors, including hiking, swimming, hunting and fishing. After the death of her husband and other family members, Leila and her sister, Eva, she moved back to Maine in 1990, and lived in Bangor since then. She enjoyed taking trips, doing crafts, including knitting and plastic canvas, and was an avid bingo player. Surviving are a special niece, Phyllis Scribner of Brewer; special nephew, Alan King and his wife, Sonja, of Brewer; great-nieces and great-nephews, Diane Stimpson and her husband, Lee, Russell Scribner, Lynn Poulin and her husband, Keith, and sons, Craig Poulin and his wife, Kate, and Neil Poulin, Cathy Segee and her husband, Bruce, and daughter, Molly and sons, Ben and Sam, Andrew King and daughter, Allysa, Sean King, Bethann King, Christina White and son, Aaron; several cousins and special Pearson families in Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her husband; sisters, Elizabeth King of Auburn, Mass., Eva Price of Bangor and Florence King of Brewer; and nephews, James and Daniel King of Auburn, Mass.
