    In 1812, George Campbell was being held as a prisoner in France and wrote a single page letter to Allan Cameron and to George's wife, Ann Cameron who is residing with Allan Cameron.

    While not explicit, this letter is the main evidence we have to show that Allan Cameron, Lochmaddy, was the father on Ann Cameron.

    In 1814, George Campbell is sailing ships on behalf of John Cambridge, an early merchant of PEI. Of note is that the letter is addressed to his wife in care of Agnew Crawford of Greenock, Scotland and that in the letter he mentions "Aunt Crawford".
