      Mr. Stephen Patrick Arsenault
      March 17, 1925 - May 22, 2008

      Stephen Patrick Arsenault age 83 of Amherst passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash N.S. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Stephen and Kathleen (Thompson) Arsenault. He was a veteran of WW II where he served as a medic and later with the North Nova Highlanders in Germany, France, Holland and Norway. Stephen was employed at the Salt Mines in Nappan, Labrador NL and later for 25 years with Fort Cumberland Hotel from where he retired. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 10, Amherst. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Stephen is survived by his wife of 54 years the former, Olive Wilson; daughter, Carol (Bruce) Hunter of Amherst, six sons, Andy (Lillian) of Hasting, Freddie (Carol) of Springhill, David (Nancy) of Oxford, George (Darlene) of Missouri, USA, Robert (Noella) and Ricky both of Amherst; sister Theresa (Bill) Legere of Ontario; brother, Logan of Amherst; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; daughters in law, Sandra Parsons and Debbie Arsenault both of Amherst; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Betty Roberts of Amherst. Stephen was predeceased by his four sisters, Martha, Margaret Arsenault, Annie Arsenault and Lilly Rogers; brothers, Freddie, Roy, John, and Clarence. His remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with the Royal Canadian Legion Br.10 tribute service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Scott Balsar officiating. Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. Donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or charity of your choice
