HENRI THIBODEAU
1931-2019
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Henri Thibodeau, of Villa du Repos, Moncton on Wednesday, March 6th, 2019, with his special nephew, Normand Boudreau by his side.
Born in Moncton on October 13th, 1931, he was the son of the late Edmond and the late Lina (Vienneau) Thibodeau.
Henri was formerly employed as a nurse attendant for 42 years at the Lyndhurst Rehab Lodge in Toronto, a centre for those paralyzed due to spinal cord injuries.  After retirement he moved back to Moncton where he enjoyed doing volunteer work with the Dumont Hospital, Headstart, Maison Nazareth and others. Henri was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Counsel # 11985 and a member of the Club d’Age d’Or Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix.
Diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2011, Henri maintained his courage and strong faith throughout his illness. He is now finally reunited with his beloved late wife, Rita.
Survived and sadly missed by his sister, Dora Boudreau (late Ola); his brothers: Yvon (Lorette) and Roger (Claudette); sister-in-law, Dianna; special nephew, Normand Boudreau (Noella); special niece,Linda Mitton (Cecil), as well as many more nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Rita (Richard) in 2011; his sister, Lorraine Bourgeois (Melas); his brothers: Aquila, Joe, Gerard (Nora) and Lionel and also by a very special niece, Janice Boudreau.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901) on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm only.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Roman Catholic Church, Moncton, on Monday, March 11th, 2019 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at O’ Bons Soins and Villa Providence in Shediac and to Villa du Repos in Moncton for their excellent care and compassion to Henri, most especially during his palliative care.
Henri will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
