Obituary
BROWN, Blair Eldon - The death of Blair Brown age 75, of Amherst, occurred peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2003, in Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. He was surrounded by those who loved him. Born in Wards Brook, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Captain Eldon and Evidene (Tibbetts) Brown. After graduating from Success Business College, Truro, Blair moved to Amherst, where he worked for CNR Express office for 27 years and later Via Rail for eight years retiring in 1986. He was an active member of the Amherst Y's Mens Club. For many years, he enjoyed swimming and the comraderie at the YMCA. Blair enjoyed camping, bluegrass music and attended and sang at various functions. He was an adherent of First Baptist Church, Amherst. Blair is survived by his cherished daughter, Trudy-Louise, Amherst; sister, Eva Mattatall, Truro; niece, Veronica, Avalon; nephews, Michael, Jack, Stephen, Robert; sister-in-law, Jeanette Brown, Sydney. On this day he joins his loving wife, Polly; brother, Vaughan; sister, Jessie. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all. His remains are resting in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, with visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, Amherst, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment in the spring in Amherst Cemetery.
