Obituary
RYE -- James Teed Trenholm, 86, died Oct. 21, 2010, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, Mass., with loving family by his side.
He was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Boston, to Hessel D. and Helen (Fergie) Trenholm.
He met the love of his life, his late wife, Betty (Smith) Trenholm, at a church dance. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He went to work as a machinist and then accepted the position of Plant Manager for Steele Heddle Manufacturing Co. in Lawrence, Mass. He became Northeast Sales Engineer and retired after 35 years with the company. In 1987, he moved to Rye Harbor.
He was a 60-year member of Cochichewick Lodge A.F. & A.M. of North Andover, Mass., as well as holding membership in the Merrimack Valley Daylight Lodge and St. Matthews Lodge in Andover, Mass. He was a member of Aleppo Temple of Wilmington, VFW Post No. 168 of Portsmouth.
Family members include his son, Gary E. Trenholm of Derry; his daughter, Joy T. Mills of North Andover, Mass.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Herbert Trenholm of Salem; and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A Masonic service will be held at 2:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
